Default New to all this!!

Hello..

This is a nice site and I am glad I found it!
My hat goes off to all that is involved in this!.

Ok...

I bought a MP4 player with MP3 player, Video, etc. from
e-bay and I have a few questions to ask(If you need the model
tell me where to look for it!)

(1) Is there a way to change the background(s)? It looks like it
is designed for a girl If so, please tell me and remember I am
ll new to this...

(2) It supports the AMV format and I tried to convert a 70meg AVI
file to AMV and it just sits there and does nothing!
I am using the MP3 Player Utilities 3.68!

I have the latest drivers, DirectX, Window Media Player, etc.
Also, I followed the direction here and still nothing!
What is it that I am doing wrong?

TIA

Yes, you can change the background of your player.

Have a look at this Knowledge Base - How to: Modify your firmware using s1res tool from here.

With regards to that file you can't convert, can u try converting ANOTHER video file instead and see if that works? I want to determine whether the problem is with the AMV Convert Tool or with the video file itself.

Let me know.

southerner,

It converts .AVI files fine. It might just be that your computer doesn't have the correct codec installed on it so the AMV Convert Tool doesn't know how to 'decode' the AVI file to convert it to .AMV. Try downloading the latest codec and install it on your computer and see how that goes.

Also try putting the tick in "try other codec" in the settings of the AMV Convert Tool as well (as per Knowledge Base instructions).
