Default Does anyone know this player?

I was thinking about buying this player. However, I can't find any info about it or its manufacturer, and I would like to know some more about it. Does anyone know it?

Also, is it too expensive for such a player?

The site saids it's 'out of stock'.

When I convert the price from pounds to NZD$, it's actually quite expensive from my end, but it's all 'relative' I guess as you would be earning pounds as well.

Most of the MPx players have similar casing, the differences is the board/chip that it uses. ACTIONS chips are more common and work with the majority of the tools on this site. It's also easier to modify the firmware yourself using the tools here. You can change the images, text etc... of an ACTIONS board quick easily.

Other chips, Sigmatel and Sunplus are harder as there are hardly and tools to do it.

Hope this helps.

Well, there are plenty of mp4 players on ebay at the moment, for less than 50 pounds. It's just that I'm afraid they'll send me a 2 Gbit model, or only 1 GB even if I paid for 2 etc. Also, alot of the players on there only have a battery life of 4 hours, according to the description.

Should I get one from ebay?

This looks interesting: http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?..._BIN_Stores_IT

Do you guys think that seller is trustworthy? "Record time: SP-20 hrs (2GB)" sounds kinda strange.. Only 20 hours?

Vilium, Not all traders are crooks, do not be scared to ask the seller the hard questions. Does your player have a genuine 2GB memory chip or is it a fake. What is the make and serial number of the memory chip.

With my last trade I sent the trader an email prior to transfering funds saying that due to the rising number of players on the market that have fake memory chip capacities do you agree to refund or replace the player should I find that it does not meet your advertised specifications.

If they do not respond or accept your queries then do not buy it. Then notify ebay or whoever and tell them of your situation.

Viliun

I guess if you buy it from a shop, you can always take it back if there are problems.

If you buy it online or from ebay, you have the problem of mailing it back to the seller, but then can't be guarantee that they will send you a replacement. So I guess there's always that's factor.

If you're going to buy from ebay, suggest you look at their FEEDBACK and RATING. Lots of good feedback is better than someone who only has 1-10 feedback rating......

I've decided to buy this player, mainly for the 2 headphone sockets, built in speaker and .AMV support. I asked the seller if it was a true 2 gigabyte player and he said yes.

The only thing I'm worried about is the size of the earphone sockets (I hope they're 3.5mm, but I forgot to ask), and the fact that it probably comes with a US charger but I can live with those.

Viliun, If you are used a Hotmail account to register there seems to be some problem with Hotmail. Try a Gmail of Yahoo account and you should get an instant reply. Looking at the pictures of the player it appears to have 3.5 mm sockets.

The only thing I would suggest is if possible go with a 1.8 screen as that xtra .3 of an inch really does improve video viewing.

When you get your player be sure to backup the firmware.
