Default coding music files

I just purchased an mp4 player and coded my mp3 files to wave just to check the player would play wave files. I put the twenty songs total playing time of 60 minutes and transferred them to the player. When I went to play them the player would only play the first ten seconds of the song then skip to the next. It also showed total playing time of ALL the songs as 2.56 minutes.
Then I converted them to MP3 and same thing happened. Seller is trying to tell me there is nothing wrong with the player. Is he right?
Also when I converted the MP3 files I did it at 64kbit/s thus making the size of the file smaller so I can get more on the player.

craigievar, Wav files are not practical as they take up far to much space. 64kbits/s will degrade the quality of your mp3's, 128kbits/s is better but if space is an issue they should be ok.
Check your Repeat settings and make sure you do not have it set to intro.

craigievar

Does your player have some kind of "intro" play?

When playing the song, press on the "m" or "menu" button. Then look at the menu for "repeat" and check to make sure it's not set to "intro" instead.
