So where do i go from here ?

[Solved] Ok 've just read just about everything here and have come the the conclusion I'm up the creek without a paddle...

I have an IPOD fake MP4 which i've opened at the advice here and discovered it has the amazing memory loss Hynix chip. yes I know I was duped.

Even tho I understand that I am left with a megre 128m to play with now my problems dont stop there.

I have the "Format Error" when I get to the last song, the thing switches off and on.I've deleted all the songs but some how are left with 20 that I cant delete. and nor can i play them as even tho they show on the playback screen they have zero bytes.

Should I reformat and start again ?

The Firmware section shows the following

MP3 Player

SC85051E

ACT_V3.5.35

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Use the s1fwx tool to download your firmware to a .bin file.

Then format your player.

Then reload your firmware using the "MP3 Player Upgrade Tool" and see if that fixes your problem.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks Binh,

One problem ... I follwed links to the S1mp3.org site from the links for the s1fwx_v30.zip : [download] but it keeps giving me s1fwx_src.7z which my puter does'nt recognise as a zip file.

Any where else I can get it ?

Ozmosis, you can download it directly from the downloads section of this site (there's two versions of it).

Also, try scanning your player's usb flash disk with the disk scan tool on your computer. If you have win xp, then right click the driver icon in my computer and select properties. Then under the tools tab, select scan disk. It should help fix the errors.

If that doesn't work, try the defragmant tool.

.7z files requires 7-Zip to open. You can download it from here: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...ile&file_id=12.

It's FREEWARE and it can also unzip .zip files too :).

All [Tools] can be found in our [Downloads] --> [Tools] section or follow this link: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...gory&cat_id=10

Hop this helps.

Binh,

Thats seems to have fixed the problem.

The unit still reports 8125m in windows ( crafty buggers) Although the unit hangs now when I attempt to go into Memory Info on the menu.

Lesson learnt..for the unaware travelling in China and picking up "bargins" dont believe it when they plug anything into a computer to show you that windows is reporting the memory they saying any storage device has ...I have had similar problem on USB Keys and Memory cards (SD and CF) !

Thanks to you and arish_06 for the replys

So the "format error" is now solved?

But you now have a problem where you can't get into "memory info" from the menu?

I suggest backup your firmware firstly. Then try a 'low' format using the Format Tool that's provided as part of the MP3 Utilities install.

Then try 'reflashing' your player with YOUR firmware (no on elses).
