Hi all
How can I get points in this forum?
What r the uses of getting points?
Can anyone clarify.

Getting points is just a matter of how much time you spend here helping the others, answering their questions.. You get recognised by your points! ;D

Yes, that is correct.
Points are awarded on how much you contribute to the site. It's a way to say "thanks" for all your effects and for helping to make the site as it is now. This site wont' be as popular if it weren't for it's members all pitching in to contribute to the site.

Okay, just so that I fully understand the POINTS issue on this web site, all the points are really good for is to show recognition for that user based upon their participation on this web site. The points have no other significance other than that. Is this correct? Usually sites like this that award points allow the user to redeem the points for particular prizes but based upon my research of this site, it does not appear that this is the case here. If I am wrong about this, please set me straight.

I would like to offer some prizes to people, but at the moment, I don't have anything to offer (but love, share and my support time

).

It would be great to offer prizes, maybe alittle later once we get some sponsors to the site so we can offer prizes.

Dear Administrator:

First off, thank you for the quick response to my earlier post. Just so you know, I recently came across your web site while looking for utility files for MP3 and MP4 Players and I am quite impressed with what I see on your web site. I am a Wholesaler & Importer of the Clone MP3 Nano units from China as well as several other models. I deal with several different manufacturers in China and these manufacturers are looking for a decent Driver Disc to distribute with their MPx Players.

As I am sure that you are already aware of, these Chinese made User Manuals and Driver Discs leave a lot to the imagination and need a considerable amount of work! Using the programs that I have acquired from your site, I believe that I can create these Driver Disc(s) that these manufacturers are looking for and possibly develop a “NEW” User Manual for them as well.

So, since it is your site that has helped me with this project, I will propose to these manufacturers a "condition" in which I will prepare a Master Driver Disc for each of their MPx Player Models that they manufacture and sell in exchange for ONE SAMPLE UNIT for evaluation and for downloading the Firmware.

After I have completed the Driver Disc for the manufacturer, I will then donate the MPx Player to your Web Site for distribution. What you can do is this, the Registered Users of this web site can use their points to enroll into a drawing that you hold once a month (or so) for a particular MPx Player.

The winner would then receive the unit from you from the units that I can get the manufacturers to donate to this concept. I will talk with a couple of the manufacturers this week to see if they are willing to go along with this idea.

In the meantime however, I will perform a Firmware Dump of each of the MPx Players that I currently have in-stock and upload them to your web site with pictures of each Model. This should get the ball rolling. I will try and upload these files to your web site by this weekend since I have several other projects that I am working on right now as well.

Also, if you like my idea let me know by return e-mail since you now have my e-mail on file and we can discuss the details of it in more depth. I would leave you my e-mail address in this message but I would prefer not to get swamped with e-mails from all of your members.

Firstly, thanks for letting us know you've found the site helpful.

It was almost the exact same thought as yours that made me create this site. I wanted a central location or like you say a 'master driver disc' where you can keep all the files relating to your player, such as drivers, tools and firmware.

That was the big reason why I started this site. It was also to 'share' my knowledge of MPx player as well as learn some more myself.

It was great to see there are lots of dedicated members out there who share the same 'passion' for these MPx player as I do. I think it's that which has made the site grow so well.
