Is this MP3/MP4 player same like urs?

Hi guys,

I just bought a new Mp3/Mp4 player from Yahoo Auction in Singapore. The seller claims this player to be better than the iPod nano as it supports Video and Mp4. Please refer to the following link:

Is mine same as the YEPO 757F? It seems that my player's screen is a bit smaller (1.3"). Can I upgrade irs firmware using the available firmwares here?

Also, when I install the AMV Convert Tool 3.68, my Virus Scan prompt me that it detects Trojan Horse virus on some setup files of this tool. What should I do for this problem?

ericmar, It is impossible to tell if this player is the same as YEPO 757F as the manufacturers just buy in parts and assemble them so even if it looks the same it may have different internal components.
Upgrading your firmware is always a risky process the firmware only has to be slightly incompatible and your player could be left unusable.
Upgrading your firmware will not add new features or options.
Some of the setup files are in foreign languages which can cause some virus scanners to read then as infected files.
You could delete all .msi files except MSIen.msi which is the english install and then rescan the folder.

What about if I extract out my original firmware first and then try other's firmware. If not working then I program back my original firmware. Will this be ok then? :wink:

I would hope that I can modify the firmware so that to customize the my player. This seems so fun!

ericmar,
When you extract your firmware it does not copy all the files needed to restore a dead player. If you look in the dead player forum you will see the problems people have trying to restore their players once they no longer work.
However if you want to extract your own firmware and then customize it you run very little risk of damaging your player. But I would not recommend loading a firmware that someone else has customized.

So meaning that if I extract out my original firmware and do some little modifications on some of the images, that should be fine, right?
