Hello, New member+just ordered this Nano Clone...
Hello, I currently have a iPod30gig Video for myself, and my girl wanted something to play mp3s, but didnt need 30gig like I wanted. So I ordered her this 1gb off ebay. Hopefully I will be able to change the menu's as I'm still learning and reading here what version I got, and how to change the menus to look "ipod" like...

I made sure to ask him about it actually being 1gig, and if it came with the proper cords to charge it in the USA since its from Hong Kong lol. His seller rating is 99.7% positive too! Any comments? Thanks for looking, I'm sure I'll be around! If we like her's I may get me a 2gb one from this same seller... |
Rocker81,
Looks to be a standard Nano Clone, they do not have the polish of the iPod but for the price they are a great little player. It uses AMV video format which has better compression than the other formats available. I would guess from the specs. it has an ACTION Chipset which has more supporting software and easier to customize. I would suggest if you do decide to buy a second 2GB player that you pay a little extra for a 1.8 LCD version, it is suprising the difference .3 of an inch makes when viewing video. You can now buy Nano style silicon cases for them as well, a good investment as they tend to mark easily. They are quite inexpensive and available on eBay. Welcome to the site, there are some great contributions in the forums that will help you get the most out of your player and a growing number of custom theme components, one of the first things most people want to change. Backup your firmware and you should have no problems with your player. Look forward to more posts and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. Cheers |
Re: Hello, New member+just ordered this Nano Clone...
Thanks! If I get the 2gb, it will just be for mp3s, I only use my ipod30gb rarely for video in my car, cause i have it hooked to outputs to watch video on my car on my 7" indash screen...its sweet hearing the music and then looking down and watching the musics video too.
The 2gb would be strictly mp3, on the go. 1 or 2 gig isnt enough for video for me...as I have about 15gigs of mp3s on my 30gb ipod! I will have to search the boards once I get it and make sure and backup my firmware, and see what all I can do to the unit! Im anxious to get one and sit it side by side w/ a friends real nano haha too bad the interface isnt the same lol. |
Please let us know when you got this player!
Also, since you are getting a 2GB one, if you happen to open it up, please check if the memory is exact 2GB or fake one! Alternatively, you can try format it and then check its capacity on the File Explorer. |

will do, I will post some detail pics and a review of how it is, and any problems, and check into the exact storage size. I will be pretty upset if its not 1gb, as he had stated it for sure is.

I have the 2G version of this model, also purchased from ebay for about 80bucks. It's a legit 2G capacity too. I first did a file transfer, and it stopped just short a few MB of 2G, I assume the other MB's were the file system or other hidden files that are necessary to keep the pod operating. I also took it a part and found the memory chip ID on this site. Samsung memory chip, also matching the memory ID as posted.
$80 u.s.d. + $16 u.s.d. shipping = $96 bucks Thankfully, I was not burned on this buy. :D |
