Firmware Mod - NON Theme

Theme mods are fine. But what about features? Has anyone here given this to a local programmer to tweak?

What programming language are these firmware files written in? Is there documentation easily available on these action and sigmatel chips for programmers to go wild on? i think this may be well worth the money invested.

RedMonkey

The chip manufacturers hasn't released any offical SDK for us to mod it.... I'm sure if it's available, there will be a flood of 'mods' for it.....

given the features it has now, I don't think it would take anyone with decent software engineering to dismantle this thing and figure out how it works.

Guess I can take that on as a project. ;)

RedMonkey, s1mp3.org have been working on it for over 12 months and still do not fully understand the firmware. You can read their Wiki
HERE

awesome, I'll research this. So there has been a concerted effort try to modify other than themes. This is good news. It looks like there is alot more information onthe Sigmatel chips than action, that may be why. I'm workign with a manufacturer that may be able to get me action chip documentation in chinese, ill need to translate it. I'll check out the wiki. Thanks gents. I'm so glad I found an interest group for these devices. I thought i was the only one out there with big plans for these small devices. :D

Maybe we'll soon be able to edit the firmware 'cause i'm in contact with a chinese guy, who has the official Actions ATJ2085 Development Kit
