Default Mp3 Mp4 Player look ipod nano

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie in your forum. I bought my first mp3 mp4 player few days ago imported from china with some doubts...I don't trust china manufacturers...

Well, i have done it...I got this player (See my avatar).

Anyone has got it before? Do you have any information i have to know about this one?
Thank's in advance.

For further buyers, everything work well (Mp3 / Mp4 (Amv format) / Jpeg...)
For the price i think it was a really good invest...But i advice you to see the product in real and if you could, test it...Because as i saw on the web, some of them don't work perfectly...

Thank's for your site, i hope learning many things about my player...

P.S: I'm also french, so excuse me for my english too!! ops:

Thanks for your post.
Your English is fine.

There seems a lot of very similar players like yours out there now with the Nano look. The good bit about these players is that you can modify/change the images and theme on your player.

There are some very good themes available from this site which you can download and import into your player to make it look like a real iPod Nano too! Have a look at it once you get a chance and once you start familiarising yourself with your player.

Hope to see you on this site more often.

welcome to the club! 8) i think the mp4 that u bought is way cooler than the ipod, coz you can change the themes and look of ur player unlike the original nano. so you can customize it depending on your firmware version.

hope my advice inspired you,

Hi Sub,

I'm newbie too and I've bought 2 units China made nano clone, well I prefer to call them the chiPod (China iPod)

In some points China products seems to be more customizable not only the themes, but even you can create your own application and put it in your chiPod.

BTW, Sub have you check what kind of chipset your player has? is it an s1mp3 player or else?

Thank's for your comments...I am still afraid of changing themes as i saw few persons who lost thier players by doing that manipulation...

But however, Cerahati, how can i know what kind of chipset it uses?

Chipset is mainly based on what video formats your player can play and whether the s1fwx tool can detect it.

In a short summary:

ACTIONS board: Play .AMV and .MTV files. S1fwx and s1res tools works wth Actions.

SIGMATEL and SUNPLUS boards: Mainly use .ASF or converted .AVI files. S1fwx and s1res tools won't worth with these.

Don't worry about 'dead players' if you use your own firmware. I've updated the firmware of my player about 30-40 times now while testing the themes I make. The most important thing is update your player with YOUR FIRMWARE! If you do that, it will be fine. If you use other people's firmware, you risk a high chance of having 'dead player'.

Backup your firwmare using the s1fwx tool (in [Downloads] area and look at the Knowledge Base for instructions), then use that dump.bin to edit your firmware and reskin it with your theme.

Ok, well, My player can only play movie.amv...So i think i have a Actions Board.

My firmware is:

Version: B204G2V1
Core: 3.5.37

And when i will upgrade my player, i won't miss to tell you about it.
Tank's for your explanations.
