Escalating indicates to Paypal that you cannot resolve the issue with the seller. On second thought, I would wait a couple of weeks before escalating. That way you don't seem unreasonable. There is no guarantee that Paypal will give you money back but you have a better chance if they think you worked to resolve and the seller was unreasonable.

If you haven't given feedback yet, I would.

Say something like: Hacked memory to read 4gb. Check www.mympxplayer.org That will give other buyers a heads up and maybe clue some others onto their hacked players. Providing the link to here will give credibility to your feedback. The more people who catch on and start leaving negative feedback, the better your chances of Paypal ruling in your favor.

Be warned, if you do this, he will probably leave you negative feedback in return.

I think that eBay took the option off for going back in and leaving additional comments didn't it? Darn! Since you've got until August 17th, I would try contacting him again through Paypal and tell him that you know all about memory hacks and scammers telling people not to format their players. Let him know you're not going away or giving up easily. You can always escalate the claim around August 15th or 16th.

If you decide to look into another player, I would recommend buying from someplace other than eBay. There are several reputable stores that sell non-hacked players. If you do buy from eBay check out the Blacklist or eBay Petition for a list of bad sellers or start a thread and ask if anyone has used a certain seller.
We can also recommend players. Several people on this board own a variety and could steer you in the right direction.

I'm sorry you got scammed. Most of us here know how you feel. It really sucks!

This is what the guy wrote.
'you reformatted it and thats all thats wrong thats why we say DO NOT REFORMATT and thats what happened just send it back and we will send it to the manufactuer to see if it has a factory defect its very easy to find out and if it is we will send you another one very simple thanks'

I don't feel like shipping it back nor do i want another one. I should't have to ship it back this was not my fault.

I was gonna put

'Look I know about the Memory Hacks and you telling people to not reformat. The only reason you say not to reformat is because thats how the people now you are scamming them off. I feel that i shouldn't have to ship back the Mp3. I shouldn't have to ship it back for something that was ur fault. I shouldn't have to pay the money for that. I dont want a new Mp3. I just feel that i should get my money back. '

But idk what do you think?
