is there any way to reformat hacked playet to actual capacity only. so that we do not waste time loading data on un usable space and than getting error message.

also one more problem is my player has voice recorder also, and it also goes on recording as it assumes lot many space available and finally recording what i get after some time is corrupted!!!

javad, Using the MP3 Player Utilities go to the Partition Encrypt tab and move the slider all the way right then back to the left then press start. This will rebuild the partition table and remove the hack. I found it is also a good idea to format the player in fat after this.

i have bought a hacked 4GB player too and the payment refunded. However, the postage that i have paid to send the item back was not refunded. I think it is not fair to me as it wasn't my fault at the first place. I have placed a dispute with ebay (and was forwarded to paypal) regarding ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED. However, once I received that refund, the case closed automatically and then on my eBay, the item (hacked player) there says awaiting payment. Have any of you experience this?

Ok, I have e-mailed the seller asking for a partial refund and telling him that I will open a PayPal dispute if he does not respond. I haven't had a response to my last 2 emails (since about 3 weeks) so I am going to open a dispute.

But I noticed that on the box that the mp4 player came in, it says 256MB / 2GB (with GB in capital letters). That is not correct is it? The player has only 256MB so that is 2Gb, right?

Nico , you're right, 256MB * 8 = 2Gbits.
These sellers usually don't bother about after-sales emails and stuff, once they get your money they wont care a hoot about you.
Guess it's better to go through a PayPal dispute, they will more likely respond to you.

Thanks for the confirmation lattesurf. I am going to pursue a PayPal dispute cos there's no way I would have payed 50 euros for a 256MB player if I had known. Hopefully I will get some response from the seller when I go through the PayPal channel. Thanks again

Well, much to my surprise the seller who sold me a 2Gb player as a 2GB one has offered me a almost 50% refund. I'm going to accept it as a mp4player with music, video and image capabilities for under £20 isn't bad I guess, even if it only has 256MB. (It's to give to someone as a gift anyway  )

Thanks for all your help and input guys.

Btw, I know it's off topic but I just wondered if anyone knew how exactly a PayPal refund works? ops: Does it mean I'll have credit on my PayPal account that can be used the next time I buy off Ebay, rather than debiting my card?

Nico , according to paypal, the method that you paid for the purchase, paypal would credit the amount back to that method. More of it Here.
