Difference of clone with usb on bottom vs side?

I noticed the one I got has the volume on the side, usb on bottom, some units have volume on bottom, usb on the side w/ a rubber plug...

They appear to be the same style faceplate, just different locations of the ports...wondering if same firmware? I wish mine had the volume on bottom, oh well!

Just wondering any differences of the 2 units?
