Default I want to buy this MP4 player 1.8" screen nano clone...

I'm interested in the 2gb version but I don't know if it's any good... it seems like it would be fairly sturdy as far as paper thin portable devices go...

Thanks in advance for your help

Irrefutable, The player in your photo is a standard looking Nano clone, they are quite sturdy there are occasionally posts from people who have broken the glass over the LCD. The photo is pretty generic as well so your player may not look exactly like it there are 100s of versions of them and they can differ slightly in button markings, socket positioning etc. You will find sellers tout the ability to upgrade the firmware as a selling feature, while you are able to the DEAD PLAYER forum is full of stories of upgrades gone wrong so I suggest you not bother trying. The user interface can be a bit cheesy on most players but the good news is you can theme them yourself, you will find all the tools and resources you need in the download section.
For the money they are a great little player,. not quite the polish of the iPod but no where near the price either. The newer ones are coming out with the ability to browse individual files, previously you were only able to browse folders so that may be a feature to ask about otherwise it can be a slow process to select specific tracks to play. Other things that improve there features are TFT screens are better than OLED or CSTN, AMV video format offers better compression than MTV, PTA or SMV. A 1.8 inch screen offers better video viewing than the 1.5.
Hope this is helpful.

I have one of those and I think it's awesome, The thing looks exactly like a Nano. I got mine extremely cheap it being 2 gb with a 1.8" screen. Now that I've found this site, and put in cool menus and animations I like it even more.
