Default I got a spyware-filled player, PLEASE READ!

Wow, this is insane! At first I thought it was different software and tools that I downloaded that cause my crappy in-the-garage computer to die after installing my very first no-name MPx player and it was actaully the player itself. When I installed it on this computer that I am on now, Windows installed it fine. Just as a flash memory drive, but then I realized there were folders...inside my folders. That confused me, they looked just like any normal folder. When I went to open on of the weird folders, My Documents popped up and I just thought it was some kind of weird shortcut so I went on with life. Well now I cannot open ANY .exe files at all, My Documents pops up instead. It can sense when you are trying to remove the virus and it shuts down your system while you are trying to do so. Every one of the folders on my entire network, yup thats right, every folder of every computer in my entire network is infected with this weird virus that comes up in no scanners or anything. Even the pros told me that I just had to start from scratch, format my hard drive, and re-install Windows XP. Luckily I have an online hard drive that was NOT infected and I was able to back up some basic pictures and documents.

This is just a warning, because this virus seems new and very up-to-date. The eBay seller has not replied back and I think there are hundreds of people with this same virus on their computer from this same eBay seller. The eBay seller is powersellerturbo and he is NOT in ANY WAY to be trusted with electronics!!!

Thanks for reading,
Jeff

Wow thats pretty bad, its the first time i have heard of this.

Anychance can you tell us who made/brand of your MPX player? They are all generic, but there is usually some brand name on the box. It would be good info to know if the infected players are coming from the same brand/manufacturer

Thanks

Moonwalker

That's very interesting.......
Have you placed feedback for powersellerturbo on ebay yet? I bet you'll get faster response if you put that virus warning on his feedback as a negative feedback that's for sure!
