Problem with Forum Login

Hey guys,
Ive noticed that it happens quite frequently that I get logged out every now and then on this website. Sometimes I may be typing a post and by the time i hit submit it comes up as a Guest Post. I have seen myself login 5-6 times whenever I visit as I do hang around this forum quite a bit and I have seen this happen all the time with other people too so I just wanted to see how many of you also have this problem.

bsaylors, thanks for info on Rediff. As to this post can't say I have ever had a problem with getting logged out so I would have to say NO for your poll.
Be good to know if it is happening to others though.

I sometimes get logged off but that's because of two things:

1. I have been on the site for too long and get logged off automatically. There is a cookie time out of about 15 mins (I think, I'll double check).

2. Or you have deleted out your Temporary Internet Files which then deletes the cookies which caches your information.

What I've done was increase the cookie time but I might increase it again. How long would you say you stay on the site bsaylors?

Hey admin, thanks for the quick reply. I stay on for say 25-30 minutes at a stretch and i come back during the day, but I think if the cookie time was around 15 - 20 minutes, that would be better

The only reason I was saying was because ive noticed quite a few posts by people where they have posted as a Guest and later login to say that the above message posted was actually by them, stating that they got logged out so maybe I just thought that the cookie time was quite low. If you say its 15 minutes then maybe i have to check my firefox settings - because sometimes what happens is I login to the forum from the home page and then i click on "General Discussion" and I notice that I am logged out which i found weird..but maybe i will try changing my settings. Thanks once again Admin and Tadad1 for your quick replies.

I just changed the session length to 7000 seconds. Works out to be 116 minutes so that should be plenty.....

Let me know if you have any problems with being logged off....
