how to safely uninstall the SLD Codec pack?
how to safely uninstall the SLD Codec pack?
i accidentally install it. i am using win 98 now so this program can't work for me as it only work with win XP. in add/remove program, can't find the name of the program. |
COPYCAT, I have not used the SLD Codec Pack but there may be an entry in the Start>Programs menu with an uninstall or a folder in Program Files that has an uninstall.
|
tadad1, there's no shortcut in start>program neither any uninstall program for that codec. now my media players 9 using one of the codec which i want to to get rid of that codec.

dear on2x,
Well, the installation never work up pretty well, though there's a sld folders inside windows explorer but no program registered inside add/remove program. thats the biggest problem. can't uninstall now. |
Re: how to safely uninstall the SLD Codec pack?
If I remember right for win98, run "msconfig" (through "start-run"), see if there is any mention of the SLD in the startup program list there, if so uncheck or untick the box for the prog. Also look in the .ini and .bat file there for entries, probably not there but better to check.
You can also run "regedit", (again through start-run), do a search in regedit for SLD, and remove the keys that are found (carefull not to remove any sld from another program). Last resort is to search for everything with SLD in it, and remove it by hand. Restart after making changes. http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/ |
