After reading all the great info from this site I have taken the plunge and bought a 2gb nano style mp4 player from here but in black.

It cost me about 65 GBP which includes shipping and postal insurance. This was the best one I could find as it has the TFT screen and the file browsing and comes with a case and a headphone adaptor. As you can probably tell I'm quite exited!

Good Choice Goldenballs - its a great price for such a good player considering you are getting a real one for sure and you get a case and a headphone adapter and ofcourse TFT and larger screen so good choice. Let us know when it arrives!

well , i have bought almost exactly the same brand mp4 like u do. but mine is just 1G and 18" LCD screen black cover. the accessories almost all got except without the manual book and headphone adaptor. it cost me RM 230.00 (malaysian ringgit).
the function all same, it supports AMV file only i guess. WMV files just can hear the sound without any picture. i use amv converter 4.00, and i think it work best with the converter so far. when i ask how much is the tft screen type, the salesman say very expensive around RM 295. I did not ask the 2G price as i don't see any of them at the counter.

well if your product reach your hand, can u do me a favor, please check it out for me the samples mtv they give u as well upload the mtv to this site. mine accidentally been deleted. i didn't know how it happen to me. must be because i shut down my pc before unplug the usb cable. the next thing i got all my mtv files, jpg files and mp3 files can't play. format error. later i just format the mp4 player, regain the lost capasity and insert new mp3 and mtv and it works fine. thanks god.
so my conclusion, this new mp4 really great but must be very careful coz the screen easily get scratch. i rubbed it with just towel and i can find few visible lines already. ha ha.

The description on ebay says "Solid Aluminum Alloy Casing". Is this true, or does it have the plastic front/stamped stainless steal back like the rest of them?

well, at the back, its true. its solid aluminium alloy casing. not plastic. i hate plastic casing feel like toy to me not to mention easily crack sometimes or the paints peel off after a while.
