difference between a full format and a quick format?

Hi,

Been searching the forum, couldn't find the answer to what's the difference between a full format and a quick format? I understand that a quick format retains the firmware. But does full format erase even the firmware and makes one need a full firmware version?
Thanks.

jade7, A quick format just formats the drive a full format checks for bad sectors on the drive before formating and takes a lot longer. Formatting your player should not erase your firmware.
