Hi,

I recently bought mp3/mp4 noname ipod style player from ebay. At first it worked OK, but then suddnely no one computer more recognizes it, when connecting via usb.

There coulndn`t probably be cable problem, because when I plug it in, player starts to charge, that means that connection between computer and player should be ok.

But I tried with different computers, it just don`t recognize player, nothing happens, no new drivers are found, nothing is found, but player itself is working fine, no problems.

Could anybody can give some advice on this?

It can still be the cable since the power and data uses different wires inside the cable.
Usualy one for +5 volts, one for ground, one for data and one for signal ground.
So if ex. the data one is cut of the player will charge but there will be no data transfer.

I agree with Captain Tripps' comment.

Do you have another USB cable you can use to test your MPx player wth?

Or, do you have another device you can plug your USB cable into (ie: digital camera) and see if your computer detects the camera with the troublesome USB cable?

This will tell you for sure if that's the problem.
