BZZZ noise
Hello to everybody! First of all, I'm so sorry about my bad english, I hope to explain correctly what I have to ask! I've just bought in ebay a 1,5" MP4 model, 2 gb, it seems work correctly, but I can hear some "bzzz" noise when nothing is playing, it seems an hard disk noise who is looking for files. Maybe this noise is always on, also during playing music. Is it normal or it's only bad luck? :( Thanks! :P |
Ruggenet, Is the noise coming from your player or through your earphones. If you can try a different set of earphones to rule out that they are not faulty.

Re: BZZZ noise
Hi tadad,
unfortunately I tried other hearphones, including original ipod's, and the matter does not disappear! I noted that pulling the jack a little bit this "bzzzz" disappear for a while, but it's difficult to find the right position, and anyway it could not stay in this position forever! Could I put some (I don't know how to say...) "electric contacts reactivator spray liquid" ? Maybe it's useless...or dangerous! |

Re: BZZZ noise
My last problem with my player was of similar kind with yours. Only 1 side of the earphone had sound, and if i moved the earphone jack out abit from the socket, both sides have sound. Turned out to be a broken solder and some slight soldering solved it completely.
Well, if you are comfortable with soldering, you could try troubleshooting the board. The earphone socket has 5 pins soldered to the board, you need to check if these 5 pins are securely soldered down to the board. There might be cracks or broken solder causing the "buzzing" sound you are hearing. A way of testing the solder conectivity is to turn the player on while it is opened and using a small screwdriver or anything small and metallic to "short" or touch the solder point that you suspect is cracked/broken. You may need to move the screwdriver abit around the solder to check it. If the sound suddenly sounds normal, you have found the broken contact. And you can proceed to solder the contact back. But only perform these steps if you are comfortable with such "un-orthodox" electronics troubleshooting methods. Else find someone who is good at electronics to do these steps for you. Good luck. |
Ruggenet. It could be a faulty socket or a soldering fault a mobile phone repair outlet may be able to help.
