Questions about Battery

Hey folks,
just used the forum search to find out, what has been said about this, and I´m little relieved to know, that I´m not the only one with a "not-so-good"-battery.
However I´ve got three questions:

1. There was said something about modifying the Battery-setting in the firmware from Lithium to 1,5 V Alkaline, which is said to work seldom. Well - when starting the FirmwareModifier the Edit-Field already was set to 1,5 V Alkaline. So does it mean this is the current setting? I can´t remember having set that. And: Would it make a difference setting it LiPo?

2. I´ve got a Battery-Powered (4x AA-Batteries) USB-Recharger, which seems to work just for some devices. It works for my OGO (an palmtop-like internet device by IXI Mobile) - however it doesn´t work with my smartphone and also not with the mp4-player. Anyone has an idea, why this works just on some devices?

3. Someone wrote about a backup battery pack, which gets connected to the player via cable. Anyone has an idea how to get that on eBay?

Best regards
Jens

Btw: This site really rocks!

Hi,

As for the battery, normal MP4 Player batterys normally can hold a charge for about 4hrs if just playing MP3's at a normal volume level, any other features used (movie, fm etc) reduces the length of the charge.

If your player only lasts less than the normal 4hrs before it needs to recharge, then you probably have a bad battery, a bad battery can't be fixed via firmware. You may want to get it exchanged if the battery is really bad.

You can look for a USB wall charger, they don't cost that much. Not sure about extra batterys and stuff.
