Re: Please Upload your Players Firmware Today

Well, I've finally gotten around to uploading the firmware for my MP4 player:
Firmware version:
PMA 300-006
2005/11/04
RYJ-3.5.35
2005/12/16

The file is also available at FileFactory.com

I've had someone pm me for this before so I guess that it hasn't been uploaded here yet. I hope that it helps someone bring their player back to life!

Same thing happened when I uploaded my firmware. Is this a site bug? I'm sure I uploaded to the site correctly.

broose and louie,

Can you tell me if you get any messages at the end of the uploading? Does it say any error messages or "completed" or something else?

Also, are you uploading a .zip, .rar, .7z or .bin file? If you can .7z zip it up, that will save disk space and uploading time. I think maybe it's timing out during the uploading process if it's not compressed, it will be large and will take awhile to upload.

Please try again, would love to see the firmware.

I can't recall now what the error was, but I will zip the file and try uploading it again. I'll make note of any error messages I get, if any, this time.

edit: Just uploaded the file louiedump.7z with no problems.

hi, mine just bought mp4 player, a 2gb ipod nano alike model, yesterday, no brand in the box stated.

the firmware version is 9.0.48 dated on 2006/09/12
the fw:B806K8V1.1 dated on 2006/09/25

is anyone know what this number mean?
How about upgrading the firmware?
is it safe for me to take the fw core 9.0.49? or the newer version?

skoolboy, Do not try to upgrade your firmware if you kill your player there is no way at the moment to recover it.

Re: Please Upload your Players Firmware Today

I can see some are having trouble uploading, I have the opposite, I cant read my FW !

I get a dump.bin, but its not right, I can see this by dropping it onto notepad the usual gibberish is missing, and if I try to reopen it in s1res, it fails and says the files no good.

Is their a better version of software to download my fw, its a 1gb(960mb formatted) 1.5 inch ipod nano clone, 2.5mm headphone jack.

hope this helps

Lez, At the moment there are no tools to extract a viable firmware from anything over version 9.0.43.

Ha Ha that explains it then, I bought 2, from different sellers, for my 2 kids, the other one wont read no doubt for the same reason, but it does report different, IE

get info from device...
ic version = 0x7676
storage info = 0x0602, 0x0001, 0x0000, 0x0000
device = 'S1 Mp3 Player'
manufacturer = 'Wilson Co. Ltd.'
bootflash type = 'F285'
brom version = 3.0.80
firmware version = 9.0.48

I'll just have to wait to backup!
