Default Product Review: Griffin EarJams

Bought a set of authentic Griffin EarJams off eBay about 2weeks ago, and just received it in mail today, took 6days to arrive to my place! And it's just Australian inter-state postage. But at a price of AU$8.25 including postage, what else can i ask for? RRP is at AU$35, what a bargain!

These EarJams comes with 3 pairs of rubber earpads that could be attached to the main clip-ons to fit various ear canal sizes. The earpads isolates noises and surrounding sounds, also prevents the sound from your music from escaping. The main clip-ons easily clips onto the earphones. As for maintainance, the EarJams could be easily detached from the earphones and are totally washable. The set even comes with a Griffins protective zip pouch, it can't fit my nano-clone, it's about 3/4 the size of it. Probably it is used for storing your earphones with the attached EarJams (the delicate rubber earpads wouldn't stand crushing and smashing in your bag).

But anyway, i immediately tested the EarJams. To my surprise, the sound quality produced was exceptionally good! And i mean REALLY good. The sound had a very nice deep-bass, especially with the Jazz equalizer setting. Another thing noted was that as compared to using the traditional soft foam earbuds, the volume was much louder at the same volume setting. I could reduce the volume setting by about 5 and still enjoy the same loudness as with the foam earbuds.

The EarJams boosts the bass response of the music quite significantly. So, when you are listening to music which are slightly high pitched, it mellows the music to a very comfortable pitch-tone.

A personal downside to the EarJams is, they are not very comfortable whilst plugged in my ears. Probably it might take a bit of getting used to. But they actually hold in place in my ear, does not drop out that easily.

Binh, got them from a private seller off eBay Here. The ad says it's used once only, so for whatever reason he is selling it, i'm not sure, maybe it wasn't suitable for him. But they are rubber and washable, so it's still hygiene.

The EarJams originally do not come with the earphones, just the clip-ons. So is kinda pricey for $35.

Lorne , the grey coloured rubber earpads are very thin, soft and flexible, made of silicon material. And also comes with 3 diameter sizes. So you won't really feel it when you use the correct size.
i don't know how to explain it, but for a normal earphones, we'll just simply fit the earphones into the ear. But with the add-on EarJams, it doesn't go into the ear, somewhat suspended outside the ear. Maybe i'll get a picture taken, but it's so hard to get a clear shot.. haha..

Lorne, In ear phones are actually very comfortable and because you get a certain amount of isolation from outside noise you can run the volume considerably lower than you normally would.
