what will happen if you let your mp4 player connected??

I forgot my mp4 player connected to my computer, well i've connected it to let it charging the battery, then i switched off the computer then i unpluged the elictric power, the mp4 player still charging, i let it as it is.

Next morning i pluged the computer power the witch it, i found that the computer watch wasnt showing the correct time, what i understood from the case is that the mp4 player was charging its battery all the night from the computer battery what made it free of power, so that what make the watch stopped!!!

 so i think that you can lose your computer batteries if ya let ya mp4 players connected to your unpluged of electric power computers !!

i don't think the usb port would run off the internal bios battery when your computer is off. i'm not sure of the internal battery voltage, but it is around 3.2V? It's a button-cell battery afterall. You need 5V to power up the usb port.
i did leave my player connected overnight once when i forgot to remove it. Ended up my player was the one with the flat battery, although my player was fully charged up just before i shut down my computer.

hey lattesurf
In my case i shut down my computer, then pluged off the electric power so no electricity for the computer mother board but of the bios battery!!!

so the player still feeding from the computer's battery!

If I connect my ChiPod with included charger, my player shows "USB connection an loading battery" screen BEFORE i connect charger into 230V. I think this is some hardware / software bug. Anyway, when my battery will flat, and I connect the charger without connection with 230V, I can normally use my player a couple of minutes! When baterry died completly, the ChiPod will hang and reset...
