Storage capacities
Just bought a supposedly 4GB MP4 play via MP3_exp from Hong Kong and on checking inside I find the memory to be Samsung coded K9LAG08U0M. Have tried Samsung site but can find no info on this code. I want to know true capacity to check whether or not I have been had. Checks on Windows XP Home say 4GB but I understand from this site that that might not be a true figure. Can anyone help?

Re: Storage capacities
Gitus , according to the Samsung datasheet, the K9LAG08U0M is a 2GigaByte memory chip.
You might want to format your player to remove the memory hack. |
Re: Storage capacities
Many Thanks for your answer Surf. Can you direct me to a copy of the Samsung Data sheet? :(

Gitus , the link to the datasheet is Here.
You'll need Adobe to open it. |
Re: Storage capacities
 Thanks Surf. But I am still confused for the data sheet shows the code AG as 16GB. Doin my head in. Any way informed seller of my findings and he offerred refund of £5. He can stick it! I will research the average difference of cost between 2/4GB and ddmand that in full. Thanks again

Re: Storage capacities
Gitus , "AG" is the memory density stands for 16Giga (16x10^9), the next 2 numbers "08" stands for 8-bits, so together they mean 16Gigabits. Divide it by 8 (1Byte=8bits), and you'll get 2GigaBytes.
Definitely demand for the extra that you paid for the 4GB over a 2GB model. Good Luck. |
Re: Storage capacities
