Default pretty new mp4 player?

Hi!

I've just bought an mp4 player of 2gb capacity, and this is
the info I have on the firmware version screen:

MP3 PLAYER
SD85043I
2006/06/15
ACT_V3.5.37

I run from Linux, and I can access it without problems at all, but from my (short) research, I still can't understand if this is a "s1" player or not, or how to extract firmware from Linux (I have a winxp box available, anyway).

Well, let me know if my post should go somewhere else

Sincerely,
Buanzo

buanzo, You need a WinXP box to extract your firmware and use the MP3 Player Utilities for video conversions.
s1fwx is the tool you need to use for firmware extraction, you will find it in the Downloads>Tools section and there is a guide to using it in the Knowledge Base.

ok, I'll get the s1wfx sources, and see what I can do from Linux. There is probably someway to do it, and it looks like it would be useful.

By the way, I just edited my previous message: It's a 2gb player, not 1gb.

It costs like USD120 in argentina.
($375 for those in .ar)

buanzo, you should be able to get the source and anything you need from "wiRe" at s1mp3.de.

As promised, here are the pictures:

The smallest chip seems to be a TEA5787.

The small chip might be the radio chip.. (in my player is a phillips, and I think it's the same in all the players)

Yes, the TEA5767 is the FM chip, by Phillips. There are Linux drivers for some tv tuners that come with that FM Tuner.

Si, yo estuve en DD durante la segunda mitad del anio pasado, hasta que decidi dejar de trabajar con el Chacal, por motivos personales.

(For those that do not speak spanish, korn88 asked me if I used to regularly appear on a cable tv program called Dominio Digital, and I'm replying that, indeed, that is me, but that I left it because I decided to stop working with another guy there).
