coke,

Try to get one with an ACTIONS chipset. There are Sigmatel as well as Sunplus chips also out there. The Actions one can easily be modified and there are lots of tools available for it.

The easiest way to tell if it's an ACTIONS chip is ask if it plays .AMV (or the older .MTV) video files?

If it plays anything else such as .SMV or .ASF, then it's not the Actions chip instead and you can't modify it as much as the Actions one can.

Not all 3.5.37 firmware players can play OGG though. It seems some have been modified specifically to play OGG.

In Chile we know clearly what is to live with chinese stuff, too many have to be replaced after short time.
Happily the mp3 (Hitech) and mp4 (eGital & Fujitel) that we have at home have survived.
Happily too that you go to a established store... let us know how it goes that of the guarantee

So I went last monday to the shop to make them fix it or change it...

they tested the player in the site and they saw that was broken, so they changed my player without questions, they even gave me a free pair of new phones cause they know that the 2,5" are very hard to find.

Very good for the www.spdigital.cl guys....

If you want to buy something in Chile, I recommend them...

coke,

To backup your firmware, it's best to look at the "Knowledge Base" section on this site. There is a link on the left hand side menu bar.

Boosting the volume, you will need to look at using another program to increase the volume of the original video file before converting it as the AMV Convert Tool doesn't have that option. You can use "PocketDivxEncoder" to do this. It's available in our "Downloads" area under the "Tools" section.

Good luck and welcome to the club of MPx users
