Default Battery

Well like most of you guys I've got ripped of by an Ebay seller that sold me a 4GB which actually is a 1GB, fixed that one but there's something weird about this player, when I play music the background light stays on which mean my battery's life is over within 1 hour ? Anyone else know how to fix this one?

Sua , to set the background light to turn off, go to
Sys Tools >> Set LCD >> Darkle
Here you can set in seconds, the amount of idle seconds before the player turns off the backlight.

Well not really because he's paying me back part of my money so it's a fair deal, I managed to repair the player and i'm gonna make an 8GB from it. It's a great player to test things with, it's easy to modify hardware/software.

I think you can add a flash memory. On most players there is extra space for an extra memory chip. I don't know if the size should be the same as the one included.
You will need to be able to solder as an expert
Anyone tried it?

Sua , if your player is running off an Actions ATJ chipset, the maximum you can go is 2GB. As the ATJ only can support upto a maximum of 2GB.
i'll suggest that you identify the chipset and find the datasheet for it. Then see the maximum supported memory size.
Else, you would be just dumping your money into the drain if it does not support such a large memory size.
