Default 2GB MP3 MP4 player/1.8"/FM/Speaker

Hi, All

I have tried this player (in subject) ... I had problems with fonts. After changing of date or time normally font is changed to bad font and in all other screens information is not readable. This same happen after looking of Photo - font change to wrong...
I made copy of my Firmware. And tried upload other firmwares. I don't found any that works with my player. When I tried restore my original firmware, I haven't any results. Player is died now.

My player:

SAMSUNG 631
K9HAG08U1M
CTW500

There is data from firmware:
file id = 0x0FF0AA55
vendor id = 0x10D6
product id = 0x1101
version = 9.0.43
date = 05/22/2006
info = 'SDK-ITEM/ACTIONSGongee.ZH'
manufacturer = 'Wilson Co. Ltd.'
device name = 'S1 Mp3 Player'

Maybe some from you have correct 9.0.43 firmware for 1.8" player with Radio and Speaker?
Thank You.

alma, Your player looks exactly like the Newman M861 Here:
http://detail.zol.com.cn/mp3_player/index85505.shtml
You can download the 9.0.430 firmware for the M861 Here:
http://uploaded.to/?id=17b9b2
The firmware is heavily encrypted and takes the upgrade tool 4-5 minutes to read before you can upload it so be patient.

I have tried this firmware. I have message "Upgrade is success, the program will exit." After this my player appeared dead as after other firmwares.
When I try to execute MP3 Player Upgrade Tool, I have message "Device not detected!"...

Maybe there is not firmware but Device problem?

Thank You!

It works! I repeated restoring operation several times, and achieved a Victory. Player works now.

I don't had pictures on screen after Newman firmware. I repeated upgrading from my saved firmware and pictures is on screen now.
But fonts are changed to wrong after each time setup or photo viewing...

Thank You!
Alma

Screen examples:
Before Time Setup Correct Fonts:
http://www.myimagehosting.com/pic.ph...1sZTMB&i=46415
Time Setup Screen Correct Fonts:
http://www.myimagehosting.com/pic.ph...1sZTMB&i=46416
After Time Setup wrong fonts - only top parts of words:
http://www.myimagehosting.com/pic.ph...1sZTMB&i=46417
Wrong font in music player:
http://www.myimagehosting.com/pic.ph...1sZTMB&i=46418
After this I go to Setup Menu Change Languages from English to Germany and from Germany to English and I have normally fonts. But after Date/Time setup or after Photo screen fonts appeared wrong :cry:

Maybe any from all had this same situation?

Thank You.

alma , not sure if this works, but worth a shot.

Using your backup firmware dump file, open it using the S1res tool.

Go to UI30.RES >> mstring

You will see a whole list of text strings. Replace the first selection of each string with your preferred language.
But keep it to the number of characters in each string.
In this screenshot, it is eight characters.
Example for CDELALL, change the È«²¿É¾³ý to something like Del All

Click the image to open in full size.

Do this for every line, and save the new .bin file. Now upload this new file back into your player, go to Setup (or Sys Tool) >> Language >> Simplified Chinese.
Do a time setup again, and see if the problem still occurs.

Try it out and let us know of the result.

I see that in these wrong screens after Date/Time Setup I have normally english words, but font is not readable - only half of words are visible. But I see that there are english words but font from normally changed to handwriting type... I think, that lattesurf offer cannot help in this case...

Thank You.

alma , i saw the exact same problem you had on S1mp3.org forum. 2 persons uploaded a picture of the text being cut into half exactly same as yours.

They did this solution and both of their players worked properly.
