Default Feedback wanted on hacked players.

I noticed with a hacked player I recently had that when I ran the MP3 Player Disk Tool which is part of MP3 Player Utilities that on the Format tab the hacked capacity is shown but on the Partition Encrypt tab the true chip capacity is shown.

If you have a hacked player could you please see if you get the same results and let me know.

Thanks

This could be done by any MP4 owner. There may be some owners with hacked players and they don't even know it. This is a great way to find out!

Just to let you know that this works. My player accepted 4GB of file transfers but would not play all the files. The actual size was as shown on the format tool.

carl,
If that is the case then it is a 1GB chip. These players can only support a maximum 2GB. If it were a true 4GB it would show 4GB in both tabs.

In this post I loaded 3GB to a hacked 4GB that had a 2GB chip. The last gig of MP3's was corrupt.

You can check the chip serial here:

tadad,

just like you said, in format tab - my mp4 player showed 1 gb.

but in partition and encrypt - it showed 233 mb and after following the dehacking method, it was indeed only 233 mb

hello there, in fact there is 4GB memory chips but no one Chinese factory has been able to use because all of them has been buy-ed by apple for his iPods. and the actual hardware of S1 can support more of 2GB (it may be changed in 9.0.48 firmware)

Hi there,
I was wondering is there any way of compressing the memory like we were able to do in the good old days of floppy's (lol) where they could be compressed using drivespace and the compressed sapce was usable. Also how come these so called compressed chips cannot hold what the compression says they could. Surely there must be a way of making a usable compressed chipdrive through some firmware.

Hello, the compression used by disk tools was based en compression algorithms but the data what we store in the player's memory already are compressed and no one other algorithm give you more compression. so sorry i don't think will be practical add compression algorithm to firmware of player...

Thanks so much for this info. It has cleared up both the hacked players we have (yeah... suckers twice over!). They function just as they should and at least our 2GB are 1GB!
