Are batteries replaceable in Nano clones?
I've asked before, I've researched, I still can't seem to get an answer on this... I know some of these Nano clones dont last long before their batteries die. So is that the end of the road, or can you buy replacement li-on batteries for the Nano clones on eBay, like you can for iPods? (I could see this might be impossible if every Nano clone uses a different li-on battery pack....)

michiganjfrog , what i would suggest is to open the player, and measure the maximum space allowable for the battery. You'll need all 3 dimensions, length, width, thickness. Try not to measure the battery itself, as sometimes the battery might be smaller than the space inside.
With these dimensions, search for the suitable battery replacements. Some sellers on eBay selling ipod replacment batteries lists the dimensions. |
Re: Are batteries replaceable in Nano clones?
Thanks, but doesn't the specifications of the battery matter as well?
(ie. voltage, mah) If the replacement battery fits, how close does it have to be to the specifications, or does it have to be an exact match to work with the Nano clone? |
As long as the voltage is in range, you can't go wrong. Higher mAh is better, it may be a matter if the charger/loading circuit of the player is not up to loading with a higher amperage. So a 1200mAh battery may only load to 800mAh, but that is just a guess. Someone here reported succes with fitting an ipod battery in his nano clone.
