Just received from Ebay

Youve got a newbie here. I just received this MPx from "powersellerturbo"on Ebay. Item # 270069260530

Here is a link: Newer Style 4Gb Mp4 Mp3 Video-Audio-Movie Player silver

So far the player is working great and Ive loaded about 800MB of music.

I would like to insert some screen shot I have of the Firmware extract file and the memory shot from my computer but not sure how to insert them. Please let me know how to.

Any info on this item would be great.

Thanks,
aquafuzz

i can give you one info which is bad.

there are no 4gb players. any mp4 player which is said to have more than 2gb memory is actually hacked.

i suggest you to backup the files you have loaded on your mp4 and follow this to find out the actual storage capacity of your player

sorry to give you this bad news on the day of arrival of your new player.

You probably mean a Meizu M6, but we are talking "Newer Style 4Gb Mp4 Mp3 Video-Audio-Movie Player silver" here.
To insert pictures you have to upload them somewhere first, a site like photobucket.com could help. Upload your pictures there, and copy the code you get there over into a post here. Code is like
http://image path
Try to play the last songs you loaded, do they sound okay?

Re: Just received from Ebay

Well thanks I think. I just cracked the hack and found only 480 somthing MB's of memory. The good thing is I didnt send a bunch on it. Other than that its a neat little player. What else can I do with it? Can I change any of the other setting. Any other hack programs for more functions on this player.

Thanks again

have a look around the forum and you'll find many things to do, experiment and find out about your mp4 player :)

Re: Just received from Ebay

aquafuzz , the most basic thing you can do is theming your player.

First you'll need to extract your current firmware. The guide is Here.

Keep a backup of it in case you need it in future. You might also want to upload it to the forum so that others trying to recover their players are able to use it, upload link is Here.

Next, you need to modify the firmware to your liking. The guide is Here.
There are many themes available in the downloads section, basically just insert the images individually into your own firmware. Some might fit your player some might not due to the difference in layouts, and you might need to do some manual editting.

Finally when done, flash your edited firmware back into the player. The guide is Here.

Take note to always use your own firmware for editing, never use someone else's firmware or you will risk killing your player.

Lastly regarding the memory, i've checked the samsung datasheet and it is a 512MB memory chip. You might want to consider a refund of sorts since you paid for a 4GB player.

Re: Just received from Ebay

Hi!

Please help me, I have run the extraction tool, that was successful, then I run the repair tool (I followed the instructions exactly), but it says

"unknown firmware file, repairing file failed"

OK, I am using an uxcell 2GB mp4 player, my firmware version is this:

MP3 PLAYER
LKD_9702_01
2006-11-18
9.0.48
2006-09-12

I formatted the player on xmas day, as I was having trouble deleting over 100 files....It was a quick format via the mp3 player utilities tool.

This hasn;t affected the memory or anything, but now if I try and run my AMV player, it says disk empty, it's like the actual software is not really there, same with voice record, etc.
The radio and music works fine though.

I emailed the guys from ebay, and they emailed back saying I need to upgrade my firmware.
I'm very wary of doing this though....

Please can somebody help me? I'd appreciate it very much.
