Problem with new MP4 Player
 

I got a new mp4 player. it has firmware v 3.5.37

it also has a replaceable nokia type battery BL-4C 3.7V

it works fine till I try to charge it.

the player is on while charging. i charge using the power adapter that came with it.

it charges for a few minutes and then the display light stays on forever and the charge icon remains static. i left it for a few hours but no change.

when i switch off the power adapter, even the player goes off. then it switches back on and restarts and restarts again and again. after about 10 minutes, it becomes stable and the battery shows full while playing music, videos and it gives me a good battery life of 10 or so hours.

but why is the restarting problem taking place whenever i am charging? is it just a minor problem like it is now or will it develop into a major problem?

is it something with the battery or the usb cable and power adapter?

any help will be appreciated.

deepakrr , try charging with the USB on your computer instead. See if this problem also happens.

Likely i think that either the power adaptor is faulty, or the voltage controller in your player is faulty.

the charge icon remains static when i try to charge it through the computer also although i dont experience any restarting problems when i disconnect.

deepakrr , try the usual troubleshooting. Extract, repair and re-flash the firmware into the player.

Also try using the player (ie play videos non-stop) until the battery is drained flat, to the state where the player can't on. Then charge it up again.

If all these do not work, likely it might be some hardware issues.
