jungle.bookstore changed their name to jungle.foodstore and set their feedback status to 'private' when they left me negative feedback. They had the gall to call me a fraudster!
They now are no longer a registered eBay seller (yay for that, but beware of them re-incarnating...).
I guess me reporting 10 of their 8mb mp4 players each time I logged into eBay may have helped...
I have still not seen any money from them (but PayPal have re-opened my case...)

I am working on eBay retracting the negative feedback (it's my only negative!)

It states in the item description: *This is a compressed 8gb flash drive, the 8gb capacity is for storing data files only,1gb is for actual playable and recordable.

An easy out for scammers. They put that in there so they can claim that they stated it was a 1gb.

Default RE: Petition signing

Someone suggested that we sign this petition and send it to all senators, congressmen etc, etc. I have purchased more than a few of these MP3 players on EBAY. I never have encountered a problem with them, (I know you wonder why I purchased many,,,,as GIFTS). So if you all sign up, and get a million signatures, and send this petition to all the government agencies, do you think they will blindly sit by and do nothing? Of course not, they will see how much money is really changing hands on EBAY and all of a sudden there will be added taxes for every transaction on EBAY. The government is looking for more money all the time, so go on and send it to them and admit that there is a lot of money being exchanges there, so you all can pay a lot more for your items.

You gotta use your head people, think! Take care of the problem (if you have a problem) with EBAY and Paypal. Why get the government involved? It will come back to bite you in the long run.

And besides, if you get a million signatures of disgruntled buyers, that means there were a million buyers who wanted to sidestep buying a true Apple MP3 for something cheaper. Currently we can all buy these cheapies and if they quit then we can buy another one. I can buy 5 for what I would pay for a true Apple. And I know Apple owners who had their players quit after a year or 2.
So, go on and sign up, tell the world that you were trying to buy something cheaper and got burned. Then you will all be here looking for a "Reputable" dealer to buy another fake from anyway. What did you gain,,,,, nothing but the "Glory " of signing up and letting everyone know about the mistakes you made. As for me, I won't sign it and will keep looking for a true "Deal" on EBAY. Always looking to pay less for everything.

stirator , i think it is pretty obvious that eBay IS earning alot of money, from the fact that eBay is in the list of Fortune 500 companies. Ranking 383 with an annual revenue of US$5,969.7million and profit of US$1,125.6million. http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortu...t/301_400.html

i think it is pretty obvious to most people that ebay deals with online auctions.

And i also think that is is pretty obvious that MOST of eBay's annual profits come from auction sales insertion fees, final value fees, whatever auction fees there is.

If the government wanted to impose any taxes, i don't think they would wait until this petition is done up with a million signatures before they decide to start charging sale taxes. Come on, the governement could even see what you doing in your backyard with just a satellite from the comfort of their desk. For a minute you think that they don't know how much eBay is earning?

They would probably, in fact would have known that eBay is making tonnes of money just from hosting auctions. Do you think that any government, would be oblivious to this?

On another note, perhaps you are well-off and could afford 5 players in a go, and purchasing an apple ipod would be a piece of cake to you. But there are many others who could not easily afford an apple ipod, and these "cheapies" as i quote from you, are the best that they could afford. i am one of them in fact, i'm just a student and do not have any positive income. So saving up for just 1 player is not easy.

In case you don't know yet, those who signed the petition were "conned", "swindled", "cheated", into purchasing something that had been misrepresented. As far as i could see, and as far as those concerned, they did not make a "mistake" but rather was deceived by the seller themselves.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

may as well add ebay user Jackysmallshop to your list of ebay scam artists. My 8GB mp4 player turned out to be a 1GB player

It seems more and more people get scammed, myself included. I am still negotiating with the seller, so I am not signing the petition yet.

However, could the petition page include another field where one would be able to put an ebay seller login name, and a corresponding CHECK button? Then, the effect of pressing CHECK might be:

YES, the given seller name has been reported x times, or
NO, the given seller name has not been reported.

That could save troubles with hacked players for careful buyers.

Cheers,

Pls don't call Apple a real mp3 player unless you planning to make an ass out of yerself.
