Default Getting money back from seller of 'hacked' mp4's

This probably is morally wrong – but hey the little f**ker is ripping me (and loads of others) off.

Didn’t know about the false memory hack until I found this site, turns out that my 2gb is only 1gb. I have also just received a (supposedly) 4gb one from the same ebay seller that I bought for my son. (ordered before I knew)

Now the chances are this is also hacked as it turns out this seller is on your blacklist.

Now I could email the seller, tell him I’m disappointed, and hope that he offers to refund in part or full on both - BUT WE ALL KNOW IT’S UNLIKELY THAT HE WILL PAY UP. (plus the player was dirt cheap, it was the inflated postage and ‘insurance’ that accounts for most of the total cost, as you know)

So, I’m thinking, wait a few more days, and then initiate a paypal chargeback for none delivery. As I paid a surcharge for ‘insured’ delivery I figure that the onus will be on the seller to prove that I didn’t get the item! (which arrived in a simple, non signed for envelope)

I think this gives me a better chance of some money back, What do you all think?

(oh, and anyone know time-limits, rules, etc on chargebacks?)

revenge22, If the player arrived unsigned for then he has most likely pocketed your insurance surcharge as well.
Regarding the moral issue not for me to decide but with any luck the laws of Khama will make this guys life a living hell.

Is this moral? -NO

does it matter? - well did the sod selling hacked clones worry about morals? - DID HE F***

As has been said you probably have a snowballs chance in hell of a refund I'd go for it!

To answer your other question - I don't know about chargebacks - but someone here must, lets hope they post!

revenge22 , for credit card chargebacks, you'll only need to deal with your credit company. You need to inform them of the fraud, and request for a chargeback. Then they will contact paypal to request for the seller's account, where they will attempt to recover the money.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29
