It's safe to connect my player to my playstation 2??

Does anyone have ever tried this??
I know that my player works as an USB storage device so I can play the music in it via ps2 but I would like to know if someone have tried this before :roll:

ive tried this with an MP3(MP3 not MP4)and nothing happened to the MP3 because the PS2 didn't even detect it.Its not for that.
