Where do I start?(newbie)

Ok, I've been browsing this forum for a while and I appreciate all the support I've got from everyone. I found this forum after winning a hacked player on ebay. (See badsellers/blacklist 4gb form powersellerturbo). I have since gotten a good one,I think, haha. I won this one

I won it from Protechstore on ebay, paid 36.99+6.99 shipping, 1GB. I really wanted a pink one,(go ahead and laugh guys), and I like this style better than the ipod lookalikes so it was kinda hard finding one I liked in pink. I have been reading a lot on here about mods, etc. and I found one link for newbies on where to start( www.imup2date.co.uk/MP4/) ,but it was broken, can anyone direct me on the basics before I try to modify themes? I've got it on how to check to make sure it's the real memory. You guys made that REAL easy. I would just like to know the basics of my player before I try to modify my themes. I have found the converter stuff I need for movies, pics, I will probaly use it a lot for e-books. I want to know the basics first, (even though I could just probaly follow your instructions and be fine) you guys rock! My oldest son has an real ipod nano and my youngest son has a chipod, and these players are way better than the actual ipods. I've read a lot of threads, and it's kinda overwhelming on where to actually start. Thanks for all you help.

stefanyb , for a start, perform a format on your player first. This will verify the actual memory capacity and determine whether your player had been hacked or not. Guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

Next, you can theme your player. To do so, you need to extract your current firmware and repair it. Guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-ex...tool-vt66.html

Then modify it using the S1res tool. Guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-mo...ool-vt206.html

After that, save the new firmware, and flash back into your player. Guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-up...ayer-vt46.html

There are many themes to try in the downloads section. But not all will be compatible with your player though.

Do not use a themed firmware, but rather use your own firmware and swap the images. Or you'll risk killing your player.

Just drop more questions in the forum if you need more help.
