Default Genuine 4GB flash mp4?

I'm just as skeptical as you are when you probably first read this topic. You're probably thinking, "Oh great, another person in denial about their nanoclone REALLY being 4GB." But I just wanted to point out a listing I saw:[web:26f3660a81]http://cgi.ebay.com/True-4GB-Flash-4G-MP3-MP4-player-not-hacked-REC-R05-04R_W0QQitemZ110082688366QQihZ001QQcategoryZ73839Q QrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem[/web:26f3660a81]
From seller tinydealdirect. He's a very trustworthy seller (I've bought 2 genuine 1gb players from him in the past with no problems), and I was thinking, what if the Chinese manufacturers have finally figured out a way to make a 4GB player (besides that of the Telecast and Meizu)? Or else why would this seller go out of their way to point out that the player is not hacked? If they were blatantly lying it would surely jeopordize their business... so i don't know what to think. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, 4GB nanoclones and similar players exist now? Just throwing that one out there.

Here's another listing from them: [web:26f3660a81]http://cgi.ebay.com/True-4GB-Flash-4G-MP3-MP4-player-not-hacked-REC-I81-04C_W0QQitemZ110081995242QQihZ001QQcategoryZ109847 QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem[/web:26f3660a81]

There seems to be renewed talk about them but I have still seen no proof. I think $70USD shipping included for a 4GB player is to cheap as well.

"Caution: Please do not format the player; otherwise, you will loss all files that needs for running of the MP4 player."

I find warnings like this very suspect. His feedback is not to great either, a lot of players never arrive by the looks of it.

I read flash memory prices are falling like crazy since Apple decided not to use flash nand memory for it's upcoming line of notebooks. Flash memory is dumped everywhere, but this is remarkably cheap. It seems the action chipset's can support 4 gigabytes (was that from Lattesurf's post?) , it is only a matter of time before they show up. But it is so cheap, it's suspicious to me. Profit must be in the cheap battery, buttons, small screen. If I was to buy a 4 gigger, I would want a quality screen to go with it, with fair movie play, not amv. Have you ever considered a Meizu m6 by the way? They go pretty cheap on ebay.

Yeah the Meizu is pretty cool but I was just wondering whether it will always be the only kind of Chinese-manufactured player that handles 4gigs or more.
Anyway taddad, I don't think the warning is of any importance because that's just a generic listing for all of the mp4s of that type. Still, you're right, $70 does seem a bit too good to be true and their feedback isn't squeaky clean. If it really WAS 4gigs though, that would be amazing. If anyone buys one of these and it works we'll probably hear from them on the forum in the next month or so.

I almost got one 2 days back, but was overbid 1 euro and wasn't paying attention, it went for 71 euro plus 30 euro postage, that's for the 4 gig Meizu M6.
Actually I use my pda (mio168) a lot lately watching movies. 320x240 screen, windows 2003 upgraded to SE, so landscape browsing and avi movies at 25 fps. SD/MMC slot, wificard capable. I want something with a screen and avi play like that, good sound, but less bulky (mio got a huge gps antenna).

I wonder what 2-gigabyte chips will do off factory, pricewise?

princessanne1026, I am sure it will happen, but buying a 4GB of eBay will be like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets.
I find it strange that the big brand name manufacturers (Newman, Unibit, Degen, Ainol etc.) aren't offering anything over 2GB yet though. These are the manufacturers that spend money on design and research and I would think they would be the ones releasing them first. All the no-brand manufacturers would then steal\copy the technology.

That's old news, actually. Check the Bad Sellers section. I was talking with a seller here, Hubblemart I think, who I believe said he had confirmed that they are now making 4GB clones. Since a couple of weeks or so I believe. So yes, it could very well be true in that ad. It would be really really ballsy for the seller to they aren't hacked in the title of the ad itself, and then sell you a hacked player.

This will be a mixed blessing/curse.
Yes it will be great to have the 4GB players out there, but on the flipside, there will be a whole lot more hacked players also.
The only way one is going to find out what they got is to do the hack removal, where as of now, if it says more than 2GB we know it's hacked.
