I actually looked at the C240 when I was at Best Buy today, and came away unimpressed. :o It's got a neat form factor, but the screen really is crappy. First of all, it was sorta dim. My nano-clone has a brighter screen believe it or not. Also, the screen is very narrow, so I would think picture viewing would be kinda useless.
With that said, I'm sure it's great at everything else- battery life, reliability, product support, etc. I like the idea of the "user replaceable" rechargeable battery. I considered buying one. The 1GB models are $79.99 in my area. One more thing, the buttons were very small- smaller than my nano-clone's. This might now be an issue for you, but I have fat fingers. :) |

Well I've got a glacier from Ebay and it's by far not the best MPx player, Videos are slow, battery causes lots of problems and no Theming/Modding... try the one that looks like a PSP at the Uxcell site. It has a bigger screen, integrated NES emulator and SD slot for more space.
anyways, i'm using my Walkman cell phone as Media Player now :) if you're buying a cell phone, buy a sony ericsson walkman Phone they own 8) 8) and if ur thinking, "the moto RAZR is better it also has memory stick!" think again, my phone has tons of features (some i never used) like an FM radio, Bluetooth Chat, MSN Messenger, Photo editing: add text, make drawings on your photos and even add clip-art. Video editing: put together small videos From Pictures and clips from built-in camera, add Text, music and sounds with cool transition efects like in Windows Movie Maker. mine is the cheapest one with the memory stick but still has these features. (Sony ericsson w300i) plays MP3's organized the way you want it (in playlists) Plays MP4 Videos much faster than any MPx player. also lots of downloadable games (I have all the classic atari games, some 3D games like Need for Speed and Doom, other games include Tetris, snake and MUCH MORE) and an internet browser (Opera Mini). but if you're buying an MP3 just get enough money to buy an iPod nano G1 (G2 is protected against linux) If I had an ipod first thing I would do is replace the crappy mac firmware with Linux and have real fun like: Divx Playback on iPod 320x240 LCD or through TV out port (Very good quality almost DVD), 3D Games (because it's linux), Unprotected MP3 playback (just like the MPx players) and lots of free software from linux sites! they even made iPaint and iNotepad for the ipod Linux firmware. interested? just check youtube for "ipod linux" I wish I had an ipod, too bad they are so expensive. |
