4GB mp3/mp4 players available !

Hi all,

I've been reading these forums for several months now, and i'd like to inform you guys that genuine 4GB mp3 mp4 players (like the nano clones) are in fact available since a couple of weeks now.
Where do i get this information from ? I've been selling the 1GB and 2GB nano clones for several months now on ebay (mostly in europe - benelux), and my supplier in China (a small factory like there are thousands of them that produce / sell the mp4 players) has always warned me about the hacked 4GB, 8GB players until 2 weeks ago, he mentioned the *real* 4GB's are available. And until now i have no reason to not trust him, so ...
I haven't gotten any until now, but i'm planning of buying/selling these in the next few weeks. Of course most 4GB and higher players on ebay will still be hacked, but i just thought you guys would like to know that the real ones are also out there.
Prices should be around 20 euro more than the 2GB (around 85 euro for a 4GB), so in my opinion its just a little more for double memory size ...

deepakrr 25th Jan 2007 5:10 am

i appreciate your posting here and informing us but then we cant just jump to the conclusion that 4gb players are available and get cheated.

is this really confirmed?

intrabrew 25th Jan 2007 5:26 am

Re: 4GB mp3/mp4 players available !

i understand your scepticism ! And no, i'm not trying to sell anything on these forums (that's why i didn't mention my ebay nickname). I've always linked to this forum in all my ads to warn people for the hacked players so they don't get ripped of.
Also, i don't have one yet, so i can't really guarantee this, but i have absolutely no reason to not trust my supplier. He even told me months ago i could get the hacked players from him if i really wanted to (which i obviously don't !) but last week he finally told me the real ones are out ... so i think he's right.

lattesurf 25th Jan 2007 6:41 am

The Actions chipset does support upto 4GB (2x2GB) of memory all these while. The only problem is that manufacturers do not use 4GB. The reason is simply for higher profits.

But anyway, if the news is true that they are really making geniune 4GB players, then it would really be difficult for buyers to differentiate between the genuine and fakes. :S

admin 25th Jan 2007 11:06 am

intrabrew,

Thanks for posting this.
Do you have more information on it?
Did your supplier tell you the chip being used and what the casing of the player looks like? Any more information than just "it's available".

I have no doubt that the 4GB players will eventually come out, it's just a matter of WHEN, HOW and whether it's true or not.

lattesurf has a point when he saids "..difficult for buyers to differentiate between the genuine and fakes"

intrabrew 25th Jan 2007 11:52 am

Re: 4GB mp3/mp4 players available !

at the moment i don't have any more info than i've already told you in this thread, sorry.
He just told me 2 weeks ago that he can provide them, and updated his price list with the 4GB model, that's all i know for now.
The fact that i've ordered about 200 nano clones from him now (all with real memory capacities), and that he has always been very helpful and warned me about the fake one's other company's are selling in china, makes me think he's telling the truth, thats all ...

jtrutan 25th Jan 2007 6:25 pm

Re: 4GB mp3/mp4 players available !

I checked with Samsung, and they do have 4gb chips (32Gb, K9HGB08U1M-PCB) out since late 2006. I've ordered my first batch of 4gb units from my supplier whom I've been dealing with for about a year now.

They only started offering 4gb units this January and only on certain models. I have no reason to distrust them, not after thousands of dollars traded between us.

Does anyone know where I can get the utility for checking hacked memory? I've been doing a site search but have been drawing blanks...

Have a look at this post here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...k-vp20299.html.

Hope that helps.

deepakrr 26th Jan 2007 2:35 am

intrabrew, i wasnt actually trying to be a sceptic. i was just sad with after reading some of the experiences of the people who had been cheated and how they lost a lot of their hard earned money.

but thanks for the info and if it is really true, then its great news but then like lattesurf said, it would be really difficult to differentiate between the fake and original ones unless we shake hands with someone who is willing to sell the original stuff and link to him :)

I thought someone made a topic about these coming out already not long ago but I can't seem to find it now??????

It's here (go down to Jan 21):

http://www.mympxplayer.org/re-appeal...4gb+real#19717

Like I said before, its already old news! Me and HubbleMart were discussing this topic almost a week ago. And I also already mentioned that this would not be a good thing for potential victims of 4GB+ scams! (But that it would be a good thing for the weasels at eBay to hide behind the 4GB+ Mp4 scam). HubbleMart brought up the fact that there are now true 4GB players, and mentioned that he had been shipping them to his customers since a week before! And HB is one of the good sellers, so I have no reason to disbelieve HB or what Intrabrew's good supplier told him. If anyone is skeptical, buy one, crack it open, you'll see for yourself!

(It also kinda screws me up because once 4GB+ clones come on the market, it means I have to revise my Nano Fake guide which warns people to stay away from 4GB+ clones... except I cant revise the damn thing any longer, eBay did something to prevent that!).

kerdu 30th Jan 2007 7:52 am

What about this ebay ad I just came across:

http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-GENUIN...QQcmdZViewItem

there is a link to some pic of the inside which shows 2 2GB Samsung chips on the motherboard; Can it be an edited pic or does it seem a "believable pattern" to those of you who know about chipsets and electronics?

http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?use...4&ctime=111134

Some days ago I ordered a 4 GB mp4 from elieshang, one of the only 3 "whitelisted" in the buyer guide on this site. I'm waiting for it ... but something tells me I'm afraid I'll have to report the short white list is still too long...

lattesurf 30th Jan 2007 8:18 am

kerdu , the 2x2GB board looks legit. It might be true that this seller is selling legit 4GB players. However, have yet to get any feedbacks from buyers of such 4GB players.

Do let us know of the outcome of your 4GB player when it arrives.

admin 30th Jan 2007 9:02 am

kerdu,

I just bought a player from an auction site in NZ which the seller claims there is also TWO x 2GB chips instead. Here is my post about it: http://www.mympxplayer.org/success-i...me-vt3923.html.

So when I get it, I will let you know as well..

Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks Latesurf and Binh for your feedback. So, we all and our tech-thirsty curiosity  are feeding those  crooks  fat with good, genuine & certified bucks/euros/GBpounds/AUdollars/NZwhatever currency!

Be sure I'll be back with my experience and pics as soon as "it" reaches me. (Ordered and Paypal cleared on 01-22-'07). :) from Paris, Kerdu.

PleXo 31st Jan 2007 5:33 pm

razzer001 31st Jan 2007 7:48 pm

well this is now going to make it even harder for people to figure out which players are hacked 4gb and which are real 4gb

admin 31st Jan 2007 8:01 pm

PleXo,

I don't remember deleting your post.
Can you remember what was written in it? It's not just advertising, it could be for other reasons as well......

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

HubbleMart 2nd Feb 2007 1:53 am

Hey People!

The true 4GB players have been shipping for a few weeks now. In fact, we started testing them in December first week when I was in China. At that time, the 4GB chips were not freely available, so we were testing the 2x2 configuration.

As of now, the 4GB chip is also available, but the 2x2 configuration works out about $10 cheaper. In fact, we have already started work on a 2x4GB configuration, for a full 8GB player!

I have not started retailing these yet, but will start listing them on ebay in 2-3 days. I lost a lot of money last week in my 1GB & 2GB players, as the Scamsters seem to attract all the bidding, & I had to sell some for $0.01 + Shipping!!

Someone mentioned here that the genuine 4GB will cost about Euro 85 each. Well, everyone has their own margins & suppliers. I would happily sell 2 units for that price AND throw in some extras!

Good Luck!

HubbleMart 2nd Feb 2007 2:46 am

my guess is the scamsters will "graduate" to selling hacked 8GB players as soon as the real 4GB ones become popular !!

All the more reason to get that certification program running. It should be in place by the time you list. The reason scammers sell so much is simply because people don't know about the scam. Your ad needs to inform them there is a scam, and that eBay and Paypal will pretty much tell you to eat s**t and die once you get scammed on a 4GB player, and it should include some form of reassurance that you're not in on the scam, that you have one of the rare TRUE 4gb players. Thats where the cert. logo comes in. Or a makeshift idea.... (ie. a link to your mother's email address, who will vouch that yoiu're a good, honest boy....)

Re: 4GB mp3/mp4 players available !

This link from the below seller caught my eye as I read through this post.

Seller: natanya7259(11)

BRAND NEW GENUINE 4GB MP3/MP4 PLAYER, FM RADIO & MORE

He's essentially saying "try something different with me, the 2 2GB chips because everyone else is ripping you off. And uses words like 100% satisfaction, guarantee, ect. He is charging 4.99 US for the player AND this is what makes me doubt this particualar seller. His shipping charge is $68!! And makes sure he says if your not satisfied he will refund your money. Yeah..... all 5 dollars. He makes sure to include in the bottom print that shipping charges are non refundable. I'd sell junk and guarantee it too for that kind of shipping price. I'm just so irritated by all these scamers. My hubby bought me an MP4 player for Christmas this year. And over the last week or so I've been trying to get some info. on it which led me to this forum. And to realize the he purchased my beloved PINK player from ugoole. It just sucks. He feels bad, he wanted to get me a player with lots of capacity for songs, plus I had been needing a recorder for notes to myself, he thought the FM was a great feature, pictures, ect...... I don't have to tell you guys how great these players are as you all oviously love them too. Anyways........ I'm really glad to have found this site. I've gotten SOOO much information and learned a TON in just the few times I've visited. It's really great and seems like great people!

I'm not sure where to go with my player from this point. I have not loaded that many songs onto it yet, maybe a few hundred? And I have not had any issues with it. It shows that I have/had 3.99GB on my player and it also showed when I was syncing it from WMP the same amount. In reading through the forms I see several people have talked about formating their players? This was something I did before I started to use it. Is this something I need to do again? From the CD software they sent me?

Sorry for the mix of topic's and issues here...

Thanks for such a great forum!!

lattesurf 3rd Feb 2007 8:14 am

Cyper22 , basically with every new player received, i'll recommend a format with MP3 Utilities Disk Tool, which is in the included CD. With this format, you can determine the real capacity of the player and know if it has been tampered (hacked) or not. And if it is, you could proceed to demand a full or partial refund from the seller. The guide to it is here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

The player is very simple to use, just drag and drop music files into the player and you're ready to go!

Besides, you can also theme the player which most other brand-name players do not allow.

Just drop a thread in the forum if you need any help with your player.

avionik99 4th Feb 2007 2:17 pm

Re: 4GB mp3/mp4 players available !

There is more than one way to rip off people on ebay. You can sell them 1G players that you advertised as 8G. Or you can charge $29 to ship when the true cost is only $4.55 priority with tracking. (US Buyers). And of course don't allow shipping as part of refund just pocket the extra $25 as pure scam money

The Bastards!!

today I won an ebay bid of
sevenmp4
but according to the info here it will be one with hact memory

...I just want to buy a player 2-4GB.
but it seems to be so difficult - I read for hours but no result.
Who are good sellers? How much do I have to spend?

...and why does the admin allow that people promote their sites where they sell e.g. hubblemart with 29$ transport cost or
chinavasion who offer an 4GB for 68$ and telling in this forum that they have the real one
-intrabrew says it cost at least 85euro but has none

this is a wild bunch of data but no information!! who can help?
thanks in advance

lattesurf 5th Feb 2007 12:21 am

dumm-user , at the moment it is still difficult to differentiate between the legit and hacked 4GB sellers.

i've not seen hubblemart's ad link in here (maybe i've missed it), Chinavision is just another major distributor based in China, who supplies the sellers.

HubbleMart 9th Feb 2007 10:21 pm

@ dumm-user:

Dude, I found this site looking for a solution to the Scam sellers. I thought i could hopefully meet other legit ebay sellers who are facing a similar problem of sitting on genuine inventory, and unable to sell because of the Scammers.

I did not put any link to my site anywhere, or try to promote anything.

Re. your acuzation of a high shipping:
I ship worldwide express (delivered in 1 or 2 days) directly from the factory. Not $3 airmail like others. I went to China, negotiated with all 4 major shipping companies, & then tied-up with UPS as they have a daily direct flight to the US. Usually, when someone places an order at midnight & goes to sleep in the US, his item is halfway across the Pacific by the time he wakes up!

The $29 shipping contains a bit of the product cost. This is for 3 reasons:
1. Lower FVF to ebay (which ultimately will come out of the customer's pocket by pricing it higher.
2. Lower listing price - List at over 49.99, and ebay charges double the fees. Better to transfer some of the cost to the shipping, because ultimately who pays?
3. Because of the damn scammers, I ended up having to sell 16 players one day at prices between $0.01 to $10 (sorry you missed it!). The scammers attract all the bidding with their "4GB". Had it not been for the small 'cuishion' in the shipping charges, I would have lost another few hundred dollars.

When buying online, you should look at product cost + shipping as one price to compare with others.

@ Admin: This is not intended to be a promotion. I just feel that I am entitled to reply at accuzations made at me. Feel free to throw it out if you don't agree.
Thanks.

tadad1 9th Feb 2007 10:55 pm

HubbleMart, I find your comments quite warrented and respect the fact that you have not tried to promote your listings within the forums. I think like myself most members are quite gun shy when it comes to eBay traders and their 4GB player claims, unfortunatly the scammers have created an enviroment of mistrust and eBay's lack of concern does not help matters. It should also be noted that there are in fact honest traders out there.
Unfortunatly despite the fact that 4GB payers are now available I feel that there will be even more people scammed by crooked sellers and buying a 4GB player on eBay becomes a game of russian roulette with only one empty chamber.

I have now Clone Nano 4G Mp3/Mp4 Player, when I format it[FAT32] becomes just 244MB, and format it again to FAT format, theres nothing happen, I just thought for the FWupgrade, and when I upgrade it there's no display or whatsoever, the Q is..

Can I recover it to 4G again??
and with display on it??

SPECS:
Device name: S1 MP3 Player
Productor: Wilson Company Ltd.
Version: 3.5.37

PS: Just download almost all PW here, Firmware is invalid.

Reason of FWupgrade: when I play mp3 the player restarts.

lattesurf 23rd Feb 2007 6:23 pm

LiamLee™ , likely your player only has a 256MB memory chip, to further verify you can open the player and check for the serial number.
You cannot regain the lost memory space back to 4GB, as physically there is no 4GB.

You will need to keep trying the firmwares until you get the right one that starts and operates your player normally. There is no way of telling you which firmware would work with your player, it is a matter of luck and trial and error.
