Default black screen on power on?

Hey ya guys, I just bought 2 mp4 player's off ebay that worked fine until the battery went down a bit, all i get now is a black screen when i power on the player. The screens backled does light up but there is no picture. The player does play mp3's still if ya play with it a bit but u cant see the screen to see what your doing. If I leave the player off for a few mins i can turn it back on and it then works fine for about 2 mins but then the screen goes dim and when i turn it off then on I just get a black screen again. I havent done anything with firmware or nothing yet but I'm thinking that the battery isnt chargeing when plugged into the usb on the pc or the wall adapter that came with it. This is the player I bought http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=320060768739.

davesnow , so in other words, even if you press any buttons the screen still stay blackened?

If so, probably there would be some problem either with it's firmware or hardware.

I'll suggest you contact your seller for an exchange.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

yeah even if I press any of the buttons its still just a black screen. But if I turn the player off for a few mins it loads fine but then after a few mins it just dims out a bit I can see the menu but if i flick the power on and off or if the player goes into the sleep state it just shows the black screen when i power it back on. I'm thinking that the player is not chargeing. I've Emailed the seller but I have not recieved a email back yet. I'll wait a little longer for a email from the seller and let you know what he says. Thanks for the fast reply.

Had the player turned off for a few days and now it's working fine. I think maybe I might have overcharged the battery and now thats it has run down a bit its ok as I pluged it into the pc to copy a few songs to it while it was still at a full battery and noticed that i got the grey screen again after unhooking it then left it off for a few hours again and now it works fine again. So I guess with these players you cant leave it chargeing for a long time?

i wont recommend you to leave it charging for a long time. someone here reported an inflated battery which can be dangerous and also you have to then replace your battery and do soldering and stuff.

so just have an eye on your player when it is charging. when its done leave it for max 10 mins more and unplug it.
