Player with Nokia-compatible battery - does it deliver ?
I need a new MP3-Player and at first I wanted to go for standard stick (Teac MP-222), but while checking out Ebay I saw a huge amount of interesting non-branded players with both video and fm capability and after some research on this topic I stumbled over this board.
So, can anyone tell my if this player http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...5854&rd=1&rd=1 is decent ? Does it have an 3.5" headphone ? Wich standard Nokia battery does fit ? I like the option of an easily interchangable battery, but maybe there's a different model with better value for money / quality out there. Thanks |
Raider_MXD , it's looks similar to the Glacier that uxcell.com is selling.
It would be impossible to tell of the player's quality from pictures alone. I did a Babel Fish translation of the ad and found the sentence "High-quality Highpower left-ion-Akku NOKIA compatibly for up to 10 hours play time." So i presume that it is using the replaceable Nokia-type battery. Should be either the BL-5C or BL-4C. Regarding the earphone socket, you'll need to ask the seller for this. |

Maybe I should get the device from uxcell, but I fear local customs authorities are not too fond of direct imports from Hong Kong :? |

Better value out there? No. Better quality? Yes. What makes the Glacier particularly appealing is the fact that you can replace the battery. You can't do that with 99% of the MP4 players on the market today, and even many mp3 players. If you overlook the dodgy USB connections, the restarts, the staticky FM recordings, the inability to play some mp3, ogg, WMA and WAV files, the inability to correctly play videos that utilize the full size of the screen, the inconsistent quality control and the fact that it might randomly die in about a week's time for no known reason, its really a fantastic player. Get one! I'd say there's about a 38% chance you won't regret it. |

Are these Nokia battery powered MP4 players really that bad?
I just bought a 4GB version of ebay earlier today :( link to auction here |
newbielives , it just so happens that the Glaciers are giving alot of problems to some members in here.
In general, there are many other Nokia-battery-based players. Some might have the same problems, some more and some lesser. Do give us a player review of your purchase. Very interested to know of the real memory capacity. Since the seller stated that there are fake 4GB, whilst theirs are genuine 4GBs. |
i have a mp4 player with nokia battery and it gave me a lot of problems but all i did was replace the battery with an original nokia bl-4c and it worked alright and it rocks.
i am planning to buy a Glacier mp4 player too. its not that its giving the people a lot of trouble. its just that this forum is a support forum for people having problems with mp4 players and as a result people come and post their problems and it seems to us like as if all of them are having problems with the Glacier. there are many people like Que, Hotboxx who have had great experiences with Glacier. |
