Virus Alert
A recent email I received hopefully it will keep others from suffering the same fate. I will try and find out the seller.
I tried to post a message on your petition site, butthe sign-up process did not work. Personally, I hate bulletin boards that go that route, via sign-up, because they often don't work and they always waste time. What I wanted to write was that my Chipod arrived infected with a particularly nasty worm:some variant of Brontok, close to but notidentical with what is documented on the web as variants A and K. Despite being fairly experienced with computers, I managed to detonate the worm on one PC. It appeared that Zone Alarm antivirus had saved me from my folly but a month later I discovered that it had found another PC on our office network without good protection and had infected that. It took much reading and many hours' work to dig the worm out of that PC. Then I had to update Windows XP, but in the process of updating ******* XP committed suicide. In summary, it is fair to say that my Chipod was a seriously bad purchase, whose problems went far beyond the 1M/4M issue. Also, the real point of my attempted (and failed) post was to warn other people of the security danger inherent in a Chipod, i.e. that it cantempt someone to bring a serious nasty inside the perimeter defences of a business's PCs.
