hey now, aren't we being a little bit biased here? i'm pretty sure everyone would prefer it if things were simpler. like, not having to stop the song to look through your song list. stuff like that. its not fair to bash ipod owners for their particular preference. if we like mp4 players, then that's our prerogative, but i think its unfair for us to call ipod owners stupid just because they look for things in their players that we don't, and we look for things in our players that they don't.

yup, it probably did damage your firmware.
about a chance of 1 out of 100. why? try this:

1. go to my computer
2. right click on a volume/drive
3. click on the hardware tab
4. look for the usb storage in the tab and press properties
5. click on the policies tab and read.

i dont use the safe removal because my mp3 and my flash drives are set to "optimize for quick removal" rather then "optimize for performace"

@TS - do you really want a mp3/mp4 player?

setting it for quick removal allows the usb to be disconnected as long as no processes are going on?

Basically what you pay is what you get.

You pay peanuts, you get the nano-clones/chipods, with certain non-essential functions (eg file browsing while music is playing) missing.

You pay mid-range, you get a slightly better player like Meizu/Teclast, where they try to include as many non-essential functions as possible.

You pay the high-price, you get the ipod nano/video. Has all the non-essential functions included. But most of the money spent goes to the pockets of Steve Jobs.

Non-essential mentioned here defines features or functions which are not required to enable the player to perform its basic function (ie. play music).

I think it is all in the mindset and stereotyping. When the ipod has a certain function, we assume that all players must have this function. And any players which don't have this function, would not be considered a good player.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29

I know I'm not, because I'm basing my iPod owner bashing on -actual fact- (albeit I was generalizing iPod owners as a whole, and not commenting on every individual owner). Some of those actual facts are: many or most iPod owners buy them because they see other people buying them. Stupid monkey see, stupid monkey do. Many will insist on the iPod and only the iPod, even though they know little to nothing about the alternatives, simply because that's what everyone else is buying. The success of Apple's marketing strategies is self-reinforcing, exploiting the phenomenon of social acceptance. It happens in many places that if you're young and do not follow the crowd of mindless sheep, you're not accepted. Young people tend to want to be accepted by others more than they want to discover who the hell they are in the first place.

So the phenomenon of the iPod culture goes far beyond trivial details like how quickly you can find a song. If it were simply about that, the Meizu would outsell the iPod by 100 to 1, instead of the other way around, since it matches or beats the iPod in just about every possible way, including the fact that you can do song browsing whle playing a song. Watch the documentary on Steve Jobs success with marketing the Ipod to have an idea of just how sheep-like people are. The Meizu wont tie you down to shovelling your hard earned dollars in Steve Jobs bank accounts via iTunes, the Apple will. Anyone who allows a large corporation like Apple or MS to control their lives, is going to have to accept being one of these corp's "sheep".

well i think you get much more than what u paid for. if i had a little more money, i would probably purchase an iPod nano instead of a meizu. i would run linux on it. at the moment i cant even afford a chipod lol
