Default Cannot turn the volume up

Received my new Chipod the other day, and I'm unable to turn the volume up.

Pressing the "Vol" button brings up the "Change Volume" screen and I can turn the volume down by pushing the |<< button.

However, pushing the >>| button does not turn the volume up.

The seller, who is on the blacklist, was vague in his response with broken english, but did suggest that "would you pls do me a favor to solve this problem at your end .i will give you a gift to express my sincere apologies."

WTF? how am I supposed to resolve the problem?

I emailed him back and told him that I paid for a working MP4 player and did not receive one, so he needs to send me one that works.

I have not yet heard back from him.

Is there any thing I can do to fix the volume issue?

Also, will I have any luck with PayPal getting my money back if the seller does not send me a new player or refunds my money?

Thanks.

BTW, here is my firmware info:

LG MP3 Player
LS101V12
CM60026
2007/01/13
ACT_V9.0.50

Would reflashing my player with another version of 9.0.50 help?
Or would it fry my player?

Thanks.

phpeters87, Do the << >> buttons work with normal menu scrolling etc?
Changing firmware would most likely fry your player with little chance of recovery.
I suggest you apply for a refund or replacement but if the seller is on the blacklist then do not expect much help from them.
If eBay and Paypal become involved then your refund will be less than you actual cost but if the volume is not working the player useless so a partial refund is possibly better than a total loss.

Only the |<<button works, the >>| Button does not work at all.

The seller is not being very helpful, so I guess my next move is to file a complaint with PayPal.

Thanks.

phpeters87. If you used a credit card through PayPal you may find it easier to talk to yout bank about reversing the transaction.
