Why buy these players?
They're not in English.
Don't have support (?) or warranty. Poor quality, have a much higher chance of breaking within a few days. Or just not work at all. Don't look that great, especially the UI. Have problems with being "hacked." Having to go throught the trouble of theming and messing with the firmware. Poor battery life. Sound? Some don't even have 3.5mm earphone jack (who thought of that?). Not coming the correct cables (ebay?). Dealing with Ebay sellers. And other problems I don't have in mind right now. With all the purchases and dealing with hacked, faulty players and wasting time, couldn't you have gotten a brand name or well-known player for the around the same price. |
Re: Why buy these players?
Just to correct you:
They're not in English. - Yes they are in English Don't have support (?) or warranty. - Depends who you buy them from Poor quality, have a much higher chance of breaking within a few days. Or just not work at all. - Again depends who you buy them from Don't look that great, especially the UI. - Depends on your firmware, but seeing how they'll probably spend 90% of the time being in your pocket or bag, what the UI looks doesn't really bother most people (or atleast me) Have problems with being "hacked." - Depends who you buy them from and remembering that there really isn't anything larger than 2GB will help you avoid this Having to go throught the trouble of theming and messing with the firmware. - Well thats upto the user and usually the users fault that the player dies when they alter/change the firmware, this is not a problem with the player. Poor battery life. - Again depends on who and what brand you buy, but you can now buy ones with removable rechargeable battery's. Sound? - I think its pretty good. Some don't even have 3.5mm earphone jack (who thought of that?). - Well when the width of the player is less than the diameter of a 3.5 jack, you kind of have to use a 2.5mm jack...but you can always pay a few dollars and get a audio adapter allowing you to use 3.5mm headphones on a 2.5mm jack (without audio quality loss) Not coming the correct cables (ebay?). - Well thats the sellers fault, nothing to do with the player Dealing with Ebay sellers. - Don't buy from eBay????? And other problems I don't have in mind right now. With all the purchases and dealing with hacked, faulty players and wasting time, couldn't you have gotten a brand name or well-known player for the around the same price. - Well most of your comments have little to do with the player and more to do with the sellers and i don't think you can get a well known player for almost the same price. |
Re: Why buy these players?
I am not buying a heart monitor here dude! These are toys, something to play, amuse or pass the time with. The video screens are mostly less than 2"
Just how much would you expect to see? Audio?? I been around aircraft all my life I would'nt recognize it anyway.... Dave |
oh boy. if you dont like these players, please dont come to this forum to just tell that you dont like them. this is a support forum to help people and not to listen to stuff like what you are saying.
anyways some responses - They're not in English. - they are multilingual and mine has over 20 languages including english Don't have support (?) or warranty. - mine came with a 7 day warranty for an unbranded one and most come with similar. if you but meizu, teclast or uxcell you get even many months' warranty Poor quality, have a much higher chance of breaking within a few days. Or just not work at all. - have gotten two mp4 players already in a space of 8-9 months and both work great. dropped both of my mp4 players once by mistake and nothing broke. have great quality audio given you invest in a good earphone and as far as videos are concerned, they are more than worth what you paid. Don't look that great, especially the UI. - can easily be themed except for the 9.0.43 and above versions which will also hopefully become editable within a few months Have problems with being "hacked." - its just your bad luck if you got a hacked one. not all are hacked especially if you buy from trusted websites like House Of DAP and UXCell or if you buy branded ones like Meizu and Teclast Having to go throught the trouble of theming and messing with the firmware. - i dont find theming a trouble. infact i enjoy it which is why i have even created a thread to theme other people's firmware and there is no chance of messing up your firmware given that you are careful Poor battery life. Sound? - battery life isnt bad. these things hardly cost 50-60$ and dont tell me you expect it to be equal to iPods. again the branded ones like Teclast and Meizu and the recent nokia battery ones easily beat iPods as well. as far as sound is concerned, i have mentioned above what i tink about it Some don't even have 3.5mm earphone jack (who thought of that?). - so what? 2.5mm are easily available as thats what mobile phones use. and you can easily get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter for 1US$ easily on eBay or a local shop Not coming the correct cables (ebay?). - i bought two already as already mentioned and both of them came with the correct ones and you can always buy one from mobile phone shops. Dealing with Ebay sellers. - who asked you to buy from eBay in the first case when there are other excellent and true-to-word sites like UXCell and House Of DAP And other problems I don't have in mind right now. - lol there arent any. you just looking for excuses With all the purchases and dealing with hacked, faulty players and wasting time, couldn't you have gotten a brand name or well-known player for the around the same price. - which brand name mp3 player comes for 50-60$ with all of the features that mp4 players come with? |
