Woo Hoo.. And another thing to add.
If, for example you got your whole 30GB collection of music/video files on a ipod video. And your computer crashes, you re-install your OS to find all your music/video files gone with the format. You would have a very difficult time trying to retrieve/backup the files from your ipod.

As the ipod has some weird thing going on, it would rename your files to some random filename (eg XfT2yjQ.mp3, wgHx3fV.mp3, etc) when you add these files into your ipod via itunes. It would also store these files into numerous random folders, about 8-10 files per folder. I don't know what is the logic behind all these.

Happened once to my gal's 30GB ipod video, had an extremely hard time recovering the music files from her player.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29

Check out the ml_ipod plugin if you use winamp (newer versions of winamp actually have ipod support although I prefer ml_ipod). I've never used itunes and my ipod is 4 years old. It's pretty much a file browser window where you can organize the music on your pod. Fairly easy in my opinion. Maybe not as easy as dragging and dropping on chipods (which I own aswell) but must easier for file searching and organization as well as making playlists. Of course this is pretty moot if you don't have id3 tags which I don't know if you have since you're ripping from vinyls. They do show up via song titles but id3 tags really do make organization easier. Also, this plugin can rip music from your pod to your hard drive. There's other programs out there that can do the same but this one was the first free one I could find since way back when.
