does the ipod come with sound recorder?

hi guys im new in this forum &realy i found it useful as it provides alot of valuable data..
i got a new ipod saying it is from apple mac. & when i turned it on i found an item saying recording but when i tried it, it restart the ipod.. how can i solve this problem ?? does any one face it? &solve it?
my ipod is 2 GB nano

Are you sure that its a real iPod nano?`maybe a clone? could u take a pic of it?

iPods dont have record function. most probably you got cheated.

as far as the player restarting when trying to enter the Record mode is concerned, a format may solve the problem.
