LCD SWAP
 
Hello everyone ive got an inspire nova mp4, has a 1.5 inch screen and i was wonderin if there is a way to swap up to a different one, ive got a spare 2.5 inch all alone in a dark corner being regected, Has any one tryed such a procedure or know a site?? thanx :)

i am sure someone will help you out with that but how come your total posts says a huge number 16777215 and you have become a MPX-a-lolics when you have joined only on 17 Feb

Anyway, regarding the topic of LCD swapping, it may be a matter of simply connecting it, but LCDs require drivers that are usually specific to that model of LCD.

Can you provide me with some model/serial numbers and I'll check into it for you...

um u cant the connecter of the 2.5 and 1.5 fit each other. the 2.5 is like .5inch bigger so its not going to work and also the nova is a cstn so u have to find the correct screen for it

RicanJoe , as zetski210 mentioned, the larger 2.5" screen would need a different screen driver. This would be embedded within the firmware. You'll need to extract the firmware and modify the screen driver module to support the 2.5".

The pin-outs for both screens should be about the same, but the location of the pins might not. And besides, a 1.5" player might not have sufficient space for a 2.5" screen.

the space is the real problem..and the processor mey not be capable of scanning a frame that is as large as a 2.5 inch screen..jitter of display may happen..
