I'm just curious but I'd probably look at some (if there are enough positive reviews) but they'd have to be very enticing compared to 2GB brand names. I'm thinking iRiver, Cowon, iPod Nano and maybe the Samsung (I forget the model name). What do you think?
Btw, if you have any links with good write-ups or recommendations, please send or list them.

You've got all kinds of players on your list, mp3 & mp4, so I dont know what you're looking for. If its to be mp4 (video), then the 2gb iRiver Clix has a lot going for it, but if you dont use it often, you have to charge it often, because its battery drains quickly when its turned off. The 2GB Meizu M6 is also a very nice player, similar to nano but better. Cowon d2 might be above your budget. iPod Nano requires itunes and sucks in other ways compared to Meizu.
If mp3 only, the longest lasting quality players with fm are: Samsung YP-mt6 (1gb), panasonic sv-mp020 (2gb) or mp010 (1gb) and the iriver t10 (1gb/2gb). Best of these is either samsung or iriver. All use a single aa battery. ALL the mp3/mp4 players mentioned can be had on ebay and so avaialble to canadians. If you want it to be new from the store, there's a small $100CAD LG mp4 player that didn't look too bad to me at FutureShop. If you want reviews on any of these, Google and you will find many.
